I was always under the impression that Seagate is a better product than WD but this thread seems to say otherwise.

Also, Seagate comes with a 5 year warranty as against 3 years of WD.

Even I thought that Seagate is better (which I still believe) and have been using Seagate drives for a long time. Infact recent talks with one friend (who works in that field) has kind of confirmed that belief.

Call Center Support
Just dial 1600-180-11-04

Do remember to inquire about availability of hard-disk pick-up service provided in you city/town.

Did you purchase from Ebay or from an offline shop?

Is it Maxtor Basics SATA II?

How much warranty does it carry?

Default Buffalo 500GB USB Without Power

I have got Buffalo 500GB USB harddisk without power around 4700 Rs Appx from South Korea. It is extremely comfortable and very less on weight. I recommend this hard disk. Same harddisk I checked in various duty free shops in Singapore, Hongkong, Bangkok and Seoul also it was costing every where more than 6500 Rs. Duty Free shops are not at all duty free.

I think I have got good deal. For Bangalore buyers I can recommend one good shop on Barton Center, MG Road. Here is the website Computer Warehouse Online - Buy Computers, Computer Parts, Computer Accessories, Laptops and Electronics

This shop keep best price in Bangalore and all products are guarenteed and original(buying from SP road has risk). You can daily download pricelist from his website and go and shop. Prices are update daily. For more information visit the website.

Disclaimer: I am not at all linked to this shop. This is just my personal reccomendation based on my prior experience.

Yes its Maxtor Basics

I picked it up from Jayanagar 4th Block. i.e. the narrow road parallel to the Main Rd in front of Janata Bazaar/ Or the road behind "The Warehouse".

Its with proper bill and 3 years warranty.

Don't recall the shop name but its one of the computer shops on the mezzanine floor where you need to climb about 5-6 steps to enter it.

This is the exact model

He also had External Seagate 1 Tb, it was costing around 7.5k, The Maxtor was 6k.

Got the location. Thanks. Will check, though I have in the past found their prices to be on the higher side compared to another on the left side of the road, some 2-3 shops before the one you have mentioned.
