Hey Guys,

Let us know the final deal and the day you'll place the order. I'm researching some more on lcd/plasmas and might as well buy VIERA TH-42PV80H.

One question on the site VIERA TH-42PV80H | Plasma TV | Digital AV | Panasonic India i see that besides 720p , 1080i and 1080p it's written n/a and 1080/60p is yes. I really do not understand the meaning of this. Does this plasma has the same features as 40" series 5 samsung LCD ?

Thanks

Bumped into this site, seems to have some comparative pricing of the TV's in India Compare Television: LCD TV, Flat Televisions, Plasma TV. Compare Price, Size & TV Features

According to that site Panasonic PV80H is 56.9L and PV8H is 49.9K.
BTW, have you guys been to the shop? Any updates?

Any experience with Sony - KLV-19T400A? Its 19" and launched recently. Specs looks OK for its price (17.9K). Similar in the range is Samsung - LA22A450C1.

I was planning to pick one for my study room.

Loved the audio part of this
KLV-19T400W : T Series : BRAVIA™ LCD TV : Sony India

Guess you can get this even without the sub.

Default Slightly Off topic - Power Stabilizer with Plasmas?

Guys,
I have just bought a PV80H . Not sure if I would need a stabilizer for this! My current 29' thompson is running without any stabilizer for 10 years now. As it is plasma and quite an investment, dont want to take risk. Pls. let me know any thoughts on necessity of stabilizer for plasma.
TIA

Congratulations. . How much did it cost and where did you buy it. Since it is a big investment using a stabilizer wouldn't hurt I suppose.

Folks, I checked out some LCD/Plasma TVs at eZone & PAI yesterday. The offers are as below:

eZONE:

Plasmas: HD ready
Panny 42" PV8 - 56690
Panny 42" PV80 - 58890
Pany 50: PV8 - 99990

LCDs: HD Ready
LG 42" - 54590
LG 42" - 56690
SONY 42": 74xxx
Philips 42" 54490

PAI: LCDs - HD Ready
No PANNY TVs
Samsung 40" 2 models for 63 & 67k series 6
SONYs were above 74k

eZone would not reduce the price quoted despite me saying I was gonna make a purchase of around 2L (other home appliances). But offered freebies (read biscuits) like:
Bill value 10k - 20k - electric rice cooker - Koryo
Bill value 20k - 30k - mp3 player
Bill value above 50 k - 1 L: Microwave
Above 1 Lac - Kodak Digital Camera
Above 2 L - LCD TV or Acer Laptop

And free delivery.

Pai said they would offer discounts of freebies (like DVD player, TATA sky connection etc) based on final billing and free delivery.

Cheers, A.R

Default Update on PV80H

Sunday, I visited Devi electronics Jayanagar, Panasonic showroom Koramangala and Modern World M.G.Road. Here are the price details for PV80H:

Devi - 57.5k
Panasonic - 65k
Modern World - 60k

I have told Devi Electronics that we will be buying in bulk (5-10), so give me the best quote. He will be calling me today with his quote. Once the quote is given, we have to give him the requirement in written with all the buyers name and address. We have to place the order in one go.

Panasonic brand shop is not going to match the Devi's quote. I shared Devi's quote and asked him what is the best he can give. He will never match 57.5k.

Modern world is quoting 60k for single piece. I did not ask the quote for bulk buying. I am sure even they may not match Devi's quote. If required, I can ask for the same.

Also, at Modern world, I compared PV8H with Sony 40v400 with F1 live (Tata Sky connection). The motion pictures in PV8H is smooth (ofcourse with good black levels) than the 40v400.

Oh oh... If Panny Showroom is out then wonder if there is any way I can get the same installed at my Cbe residence.

Did anyone check with Girias?

Default any opinions on the LG 32" plasma

I wanted to pick up an LCD and went looking for one yeaterday, I was completely taken in by the picture quality of the 32" plasma from LG, the dealer told me that LG was the sole manufacturer of plasma for the scale mentioned.

The differance was pretty obvious especially when he tuned all of the TV's to a sports channel, the best performance was from the plasma and the regular CRT's. Should i go in for the PLASMA.
