) will be booking a PV8 each this weekend/ the coming week. Getting it from JD for 45.5k, no exchange. Delivery & installation charges included.

Is the same price available in delhi also?
Also i dont know much about panasonic products, better than sony?

1000 times no question about it. Sony doesn't even make their own panel they get it from Samsung.

I went to eZone today. PV8 is available for 44250 there right now. They also have good discounts on some HT systems and LCD TVs. Philips 7403 42" FullHD LCD was listed at 70k. Thats one good looking TV with amazing display for HD content.

No, its a "special blind-fold sale offer" that ends tomorrow. I think its applicable across the country. I don't know if there is any such offers in Panasonic showrooms or Devi/JD. Showroom any way offers better rates than Devi/JD now for PV80.

I was thinking that I would go for 1080 as sooner or later Indian Govt will wake from hibernation and move to digital format. I made the sales guys connect tata sky on these samsung & lg lcd's, however I was not satisfied with the PQ, the video was still a little grainy.

I came to this form thinking I would get some clarity on which model to go for, but here everyone seems to be talking about PV8 & PV80

Guy's my question is what does PV80 have that Samsung A550P1 or LG 80FR JAZZ does not in terms of picture quality?

Trust me I was in the same dilema Pana vs Sammy vs LG. Side by side comparison of the TV showed a clear winner in PV8 in particular with SD content. Even my Fiance who was in favour of LG for design value had no second opinion on Pana. Today it is the best decision I have made. Also, knowing the Panel is made in Japan and not Korea or China somehow makes me feel secure

My experience with Girija is that they dont offer the best price. Talk to JD or Devi for best price even for the model listed by you and qyuote our forum to get special pricing

Hi guys, I was wondering what your opinion is on proposals for banning large wide-screen displays - particularly plasmas.

I understand Europe, Australia, & the US (California) are mulling a ban on plasmas in an effort to force manufacturers to produce more efficient displays...

Yea I know Samsung and Sony have a common supplier. Sony doesn't source panels from Samsung.

Posting this from eZone Kolkata. They are selling PV8 for 44250. Have bargained it down to 42K. Credit card payment. Free delivery and install. Mounting bracket also part of deal but will be brought by Panny installers.
Next day delivery.

Availed the same offer as shuvc from eZone. 42k for the PV8. Cancelled my order with JD. JD's distributor in Kolkata was finding it hard to believe that such a deal existed... but eventually he himself suggested I go for it.
I remember being quoted 56k for the PV8 in Nov 08. So waiting for roughly 2 months has saved me 14k. One of those "patience pays" moments...lol
