You can go for the Option 2 as it is the latest one and has many features when compared to the former one.

Only in the sound area, option 1 is better. Strictly speaking, there is no huge difference in the sound between two.

32B530 - 48000

Series 4
32B450 - 40000
32B480 - 45000

Series 3

Thanks Amit. There isn't much of a difference between the prices you have quoted and those that are being given to me by the local 'samsung digitall' showroom in Jalandhar

Panasonic PV80D is still available for 48.5k in Devi intl in Bangalore. All other places have a quote of around 52-53k for the same model.
2009 series model P42X1 is available at the Panasonic brand shop now. It's priced at 63k, no discount it seems :-(. Difference is the contrast ratio(15000:1 vs 30000:1 native) and that 600Hz sub-field drive(Gurus, what is the use of this?) . PV80 had 480 Hz sub field drive. Will this two aspect make lots of difference in the picture quality of these two models? Please let me know, I'm getting very anxious.

Dealer is talking crap. I purchased my PV8 from an eZone in Kolkata. It is covered under standard Panasonic India warranty.

Thanks , got the deal in Panasonic Brand Shop, Kukatpally .

I initially bought the tele for 91K and 50k was due upon delivery.I had called up the shop and asked them to send a few HDMI cables along with the delivery and this was thrown in for free.Ive deducted the costs and quoted the price(im goping by the mrp printed on cables box).

Actuals worked out to be
tv 91,000/_
delivery 350/_
Panasonic HDMI cables set of 3 ( 1.5 mtrs each)

Need to purchase a servo stabilizer now and judge if signal quality goes up.Normal Checking for "demo TV" was done and all . Even checked the usage hours and mine had a cool 000:002:1 on it :-)

i would say wait for the new model prices to drop - i bought my pv80 for 72k and within a few months prices dropped to 65 and then 55 and now 48k So wait for a few months and get the neo pdp panny plasma. have patience, although if it were me, I would have just bought it at 63k hehe

Buddy this is life cycle of Consumer electronics may be beyond 48K they will just phase out the old model and there will be still a newer model at 72K for which you need to wait to come down to 48K.
New features , more convergence , reducing the panel thickness and support of newer specifications ( example Ultra HD under development).

How else so many hardware / software engineers employed by CE giants will get their salary.

folks - my PV8 & Home Theater is now running without a stabilizer. I guess most of you have it and i need to get a decent stabilizer for them. What is a cost effective option?

Hi Jassi and others,
I already took the plunge and bought the PV80D itself for 48.5k. Actually have already waited long enough to get impatient he he. Got the delivery of the TV this Monday. Was so excited that installed it myself, quite easy to install actually.
BTW, a funny incident happened. About the picture quality I was not satisfied initially with the video quality. I'm using component output from the HT (if you can call it so;-) )and I was feeling it's looking stretched. Tried every setting on the TV but to no avail. Then yesterday night it suddenly stroked my mind that I've not changed the settings in my HT. And voila, it was set to 4:3 letter box as to suit my old CRT. Changed it and enjoyed The Matrix to it's fullest extent. Loved it. Actually speaking I'm quite satisfied with the component out itself. Just wondering how good it'll be with an HDMI input.
About the normal TV quality, it's not great but ok. But I won't blame the TV for it as the signal itself is not that great. I'm using a Hathway STB now. Some channels are coming out nicely but not all. BTW, any suggestion if I can route the STB signal via component out? Or it's not possible. Currently I'm directly connecting the co-axial video out from STB to TV. Or should I re-direct it via the HT, I know there won't be any difference in video quality even though.
Any recommendation for good quality component and composite cables? I've checked out a few Monster (2.7k for 2 mtr) and profigold (1.8k for 1.7mtr) component cables. Any recommendations? Don't want to spend too much as I'll probably be getting a HDMI capable DVD player or HT.
Thanks to Team-BHP for the lead towards Panny. Thanks a lot.
Regards,
Kaushik
