Is the PV8D and the 42PV80D the same? I see only a 42PV80H on Panasonic's site. What's the difference?

Somebody has already explained the differences:-For about 5K extra, you get an extra HDMI output, an SD card reader and automatically-adjusting contrast in the 42PV80D.

the closest to that is a 26" but AFAIK there are no full hd 26". though you can get a 32" full hd for around 45k.

And also the PV80 has the glossy finish on the front while the PV8 does not have.

Thanks for the replies. I was looking more at the 42PV80H that is there on the Panasonic website. Is it the same as the 42PV80D?

Will the dealer take responsibility of ensuring that the TV reaches your home properly? Has anyone tried this before?

Wonder why there is so much difference between Delhi and Bangalore prices!!!

this has been explained before in one of my previous posts - yes they are the same, for saving on duties and pricing them same as in other apac countries, the names have been changed

I have Sony V400 LCD, today I replaced my hathway cable connection to Big TV and the picture quality has improved so much. It worth the money I spent.

Would advice everyone with 40+inch TV to go for it.

Costed me Rs 1000/- (Know someone in reliance so got employee offer) + 340 for monthly subscription.

Commercial launch is very soon.

Only problem is they refuse to use existing internal wiring. They say if u use internal wiring then they dont take any garantee of quality and they take that in writing.

No surprise this. If they use existing wiring, there would be atleast 2 joints, one at each end, plus (if any) joints inbetween which we won't know. And these would definitely degrade signal strength & quality. As a good practice in cabling, even sharp bends are to be avoided in the cable coming from the dish to STB.

Hi Rodeo, is BigTV slated for certain metros only ?

Sony seems to have dropped the prices on it's LCDs, the price drop on the 46" W-series LCD is 10K ! Wish Pioneer would do the same for it's plasmas too...
