Not exactly.
40ex600 has LED backlight module whereas the 46ex400 has got CCFL
hence the power variation.
The power consumtion of KDL-46NX700 is only 129W !
LED tvs consume less electricity than any other model.

hi could i request any bhpian guide me, if it makes sense to go in for a 32 inch LED by Samsung or for the EX 600 series LED by Sony, as the pricing is near about the same. Performance is a criteria, but Samsung is way slimmer than the Sony. I have even heard that Sony isnt really a LED is true??
Furthermore, the other query i had was if its prudent to source the sony from the grey market (say heera panna or similar in Mumbai) or stick to the Vijay sales/ Croma option, the diff is considerable near about 9k on the Sony. Thanks in advance.

I have watched both tv's (side by side) and found samsung picture quality is better than of Sony (I was told that Contrast Ratio is better in Samsung). Suggest you personally see the difference and judge which one is better as both brands are well doing in India.

I baught a 32" LCD on this weekend , its LG LCD LD460 Series baught it for Rs 34900.
Some reasons for picking this model..
- Its a Full HD
- 300W output very clear with bass effects
- Supports all conectivity options
- Loved the looks specially the little speaker pannel at the bottom
- The TV can be rotated while on the base mount
- 4ms responce time
- Has onboard USB support which can play a wide varity of videos
test these myself
+ Top gear(SD),a Regular DivX, Couple of friends, That 70's show and Scrubs Episode all in Avi Formats
+ Mp4 videos captured from a Digital Camera in full HD
+ Images in various formats (720, 1080, 10MP, 2mp etc)
- Got Airtel HD DTH free free free ( Aren't i Indian... Proud to be BTW)

One more thing the delaer said that this TV playes MKV format as well , need to confirm that tough but for this i'll have to wait till tumorow when i get it delivered.

First thing i'm going to try is iron Man in Full HD.. That'll be fun. anyways happy with the purchase so far.

HI friends.
Finally after so much consideration today bought the sammy c450.
Amount paid- 47k.
Will come home on 29 and later installation within 48 hours.

Played twilight dvd rip and avatar blueray rip at the showroom to check the usb playback capability.
Avatar looked amazing and twilight was also damn good.
SD content is satisfactory and will check more at home conditions.

Am glad though the price changed and has to pay 4k more still cos of usb playback money for wd tv is saved.

Would be wall mounted.
Happy with the purchase as of now

Hey, got my Samsung 40c650 installed and up and running. The picture quality is awesome and really very nice.

I played Avatar BR rip 720p for my family and the kids were stunned and jaw opened looking at it.

The points that made me decide on this tv
. 240000 dynamic contrast ratio
. internet tv
. 100hz motion
. Crystal design
. 2 usb ports - 1 for pendrive and 1 for hard drive external
. plays all types of movie formats and controls are a breeze
. Remote has an orange backlit, which is cool. We can turn it on/off
. allshare - samsung equivalent of dlna

A big minus is that sound effect is very poor. Though i can correct the same with a home theatre, (^^ the plan is not far away )

I do not intend to change the tv for another 10 years, so i just thought will get the one with the latest features and a decent size as well. Though many features may not be used now, can be used in future.

Guys,

Any reviews about the 50" Plasma from LG---the model is LG 60 PK550 Plasma?
My colleague wants to buy one as I believe it is priced around 60 K. I believe it is Full HD, and if that is the case, the price seems very attractive.

I have been comparing between sammy LA46C530 and 46C650 and found following
extra features in C650 (which is not there in c530)

C650

1 - Ultra clear Panel
2 - More contrast Ratio
3 - 100Hz Motion Plus (in c530 50Hz)
4 - Allshare (powered by DLNA)
5 - Internet@TV
6 - Wifi/Adaptor support
7 - Wireless remote control
8 - Ethernet(LAN)
9 - Headphone
10-4 HDMI ( 3 HDMI in c530)
11-USB 2 ( usb 1 in c 530)

above are the PLUS features in C650

The price (samsung) range is: Rs.109,00 for C650 and Rs.91,900 for C530
and the difference is Rs.17,100.

Is that worth payinig Rs.17,100 extra for above additional features??

Your opinions please!

@nairrk: by all accounts, the c650 is supposed to be a good option to go with. The price of Rs.109,900 that you have mentioned seems to be the list price on the samsung website. What is the real world price that is being quoted in stores?

Even I have zeroed in on the c650 but am still considering the LG 47LH90 if it is available anywhere.

I have not yet checked the local shop price of the C650.
However the price they quoted for 46C530 was Rs.68,500 (samsung price Rs.91,900). Based on this, I think c650 may come around Rs.85000??
