| Team-BHP Moderator ![]() | This is a year old thread. So, how many of you found your dream phone, I mean the realistic ones. I sold the N73 for 12K and bought a SE Z550i for 7.5K, at least it fits my wearability needs. It doesn't even have Edge, so I can't surf. ![]()

| BHPian | Have been a SONY ERiccson fan for ages now. However, currently its the BlackBerry 8830 that rules the roost for me. Amongst the most advanced business phones ever and its interoperatability trump-card.

| BHPian | Moving from my first Ericsson brick (real brick with thumb size antenna) back in 1998, through Motorolla brick, Nokia brick, advancing to antenna-less Motorolla (towards 2000), then to Nokia, again to Ericsson and later Alcatel I tested 7 different handsets of various brands until I left India in 2001. Then it was a world of Sony Ericsson and Nokia in my life till today (thats 7 faithful years to just 2 brands). Tried many camera phones and feature filled phones including Nokia communicator, Sony Ericsson P990i etc. My phones were mostly matching with my job profile and kind of clients I used to deal with. Back to India, I stopped wasting money on phones. Now I stick to Nokia E62 since 1 year being Nokia N70 as its predecessor. I had itchy fingers when i-phone was launched also when Nokia N95 came to shops, but controlled myself just because I dont go out at all. Why to waste money on a phone when you are at home all the time ? As Samurai mentioned in one of the old posts here, my daily routine, calendar, work related stuff etc. are all taken care of by my desktop (yes I sold my Toshiba laptop too, because it was getting fungus being inside the leather case). Summary: If you are not a person who goes out for client meetings, regular appointments for high profile sales closes, high-profile meetings, VVIP gatherings etc. a simple Nokia is enough for you (practical fact). My dream mobile phone was E62 (No camera) before its launch, now I remain with the same without any change. Unless I use Mobile Office facility once a while, more than half of the features are never used even in this phone. I stick to it becuase it has a 3 to 4 days battery life, Wider screen than any other phones, LCD clarity on display (photos are pixel perfect), Qwerty keypad and many such things (No camera, No radio, Useless Video, Mono headphone).

| I bought Nokia N82 a month back, primarily because of its fantastic 5MP camera with xenon flash. I am extremely happy with the camera and its video capabilities as well (30 fps, 640X480 resolution). Also GPS works great in Bangalore and elsewhere (US). Calendar syncs up with my calendar in office. e-mails are a bit slow but works allright. Surfing is quite good. However my dream camera would be a hybrid between iPhone and N82. The content creating capabilities of N82 (Camera, Video, GPS) and contact browsing capabilities of iPhone (browing, e-mail, user interface etc) would make an unbeatable phone. |

| Team-BHP Moderator ![]() | I do like PDAs, but I can't compromise on the form factor. If it can't co-exist with my key bunch (car/office/home keys) in my trouser pocket, there is no deal. I found that after my expensive affair with N73, I bought at 25K and sold at 12K after 4.5 months.
