Guys, i am looking for a mobile around the 10k range... The price of the phone should be around the 10k range, and i can add memmory card etc as extras...

The following are my requirements...

Good camera
Good music handling (though camera is first priority)
Shouldn't look like a pencil box... (though i dont need it to be as slim as the V3i)
No motorola... Havent had such a good experience with it...

Models that i am looking for...

SE k550i Cybershot.
SE k 750i
Nokia 6300
Nokia N72
Any other models i should look at?

Please share your views...

also look at the 3250. its better than the n72 since it runs s60 3rd edition.

Looking at your requirements K750i suits you the best. K550i camera is not as good as K750i. Nokia cannot compete with Sony in 2MPcamera range and SE is better in music quality....

Totally unbiased opinion and i own a N70

SE K750i is the best VFM option under 10K range......

You can consider the W700i in which u get the walkman also but lose out on Auto focus but the pic quality is still good....

If don't mind spending another 2-3K then go for W810i full loaded comes with 512mb card also

There is one major gross problem with the K750i, the joystick. I have 3 friends who own the K750i and all 3 of their joysticks have stopped working. One of them got it replaced after a year and it has gone again. The joystick costs Rs.100 but service charge is Rs.250.

It gathers up dust or something like it wears out and then nothing happens when you press any direction. Very frustrating.

Go for Nokia 6233 under 10k or else sony K750i.

Isnt the 550i Cybershot??? And its got flash too... Still 750i is better... Can you please tell the difference?

Right now, father's money... So... Have to stick to 10k...

Would have loved an N73 ME, or k790i otherwise...

no memory card but expandablity is there..

for a good camera in a mobile phone, you need to atleast go for 3.2mp.

For music Sonyericsson walkman phones and Motorola ROKR phones are the best(I did read that you are not looking at motorola). The ROKR E6 is infact selling for around 13-14 grands now. I have used the older version and hence I can recommend it.

Check out the SE series but I would suggest you to look for a joystick less phone.

i have the k550i ... bought it over the k750i mainly coz its a lot slimmer and looks really sexy (atleast to me) ... The keypad takes some getting used to , but it's not a problem ... i send between 800-1200 texts a month on avg ... still can't type as fast as before , but fast enough ...

Pictures often come out slightly more grainy than the 750i(i believe since its slim , the parts are closely packed and the CMOS sensor picks up slightly more noise) ... but then again it's good enough ... still better off than the nokias i feel ... At the end of the day , cam's just for fun ... So i wasn't hell bent on the best ...

Music: Reason i didn't buy the w810i -- have a 20GB mp3 player already and have used the w810i for a bit before(bro has it) ... so it would be like buying a new-old phone ... But the phone rocks.

Speaker and earphone quality of k550i has been kept noticibly lower than w series (but still good) ... a set of w series earphones and you'll be good to go ... but then you rather buy the 810i if interested in music on the ph.

GUI structure is the same as w810i and others ... but with bigger text and nice themes , it is really really pleasing to the eye ....

Memory is 70MB internal + 64MB(in box)

Try Nokia E50. Available for 10.2K Slim with 6 hrs of talk time. Includes all business functions like Blackberry etc. Quad band with EDGE so browsing the net is no problem. Can also be used as a modem and connect your computer when you are on move.

Comes with 16 million color display 1.3 mp camera, MP3 player, hot swapable 2 gig memory slot, 70mb internal memory, Full XHtml browser, Symbian S60 3rd edition (Latest) OS.

Only drawback is, it does not have FM radio if you are looking at it. Rest all is top of the line. Go for it and you will never repent on your choice.
