there are still a few questions man cant answer.
and nitrous
nokia does rule

i am beginin 2 hate my t610
wish i had something simple like a nokia 3310 and maybe later get an awesome cell.......
man the value has plummeted .
and there is hardly any storage memory.

my personal fav is the ipaq and the nok. 6230.
not seen the 7610i
seems to be the phone that many people crave for

Hey do any of you guys know much about PDA phones. My dad needs one.
-it should be triband
-it should look like a pda (not a p800 type thing that looks like a phone buty tries to be a PDA)

I have heard of the XDA.... any others that meet this criteria??

R
hi rehaan
sorry for not posting earlier, my hard disk had crashed
the o2 xda series are the ultimate in pda phones
if money is not a bar, then go in for this for your dad,
and xda costs close to 40k! runs on windows!

the next best is the soon to be launched nokia 9500 for approx 35k

if not you have the option of p800/p900 as there are no other triband pda phones

no triband pda phones are:
nokia 9210i(the best!)
handspring treo
motorola a760

and rehaan forget the 6610 or 6610i(camera clarity isnt that great)

check out the new 6230! it's a real vfm with all the features it gives for 13.5k!

or wait for a while as soon as nokia 6630 is launched, nokia 6600 becomes approx 15k

ps:did any one hear abt some virus which affects the nokia 6600?

Right now, I use basic Samsung phone with Reliance service. I am in a 3 years contract and still have 2 years to go. I am happy this contract keeps me away from temptation of getting an expensive phone. I am comfortable with any phone that has simple and easy basic features and fits in to my trouser pocket as my shirt pocket is reserved for my PDA.

Actually I am waiting for a cool PocketPC phone in India. They are in use in USA but may take some time to come to India. Buying without service is very expensive affair in US.

So now I am stuck up with *a phone and a Pocket PC PDA.

Hey Lambo, aadix,

Thanks a lot for ur feedback guys. Lambo i hadnt heard of the new ipaq being launched, but after checking it out i have aldready told my dad to start saving up!! lol *Irda, bluetooth, GSM, quadband, GPRS, wifi!!!! what more could you possibly ask for!.... now i am just waiting for the launch!! Hopfully this month!
aadix, I had checked out the Xdas earlier... but it didnt really do it for me. Will look up the 6230. thnx.

Satish, the HP ipaq 6310 which is gonna be launched in the US soon* is gonna be sim free,,, ie u can put it any providers sim in there... and no longer have to be a slave to your cell provider!

Jesal, u gotta let me play with ur Xda for some time when u get it! :-]

Right now i have a Viewsonic V35 PDA, just the technology in these tiny things is AMAZING... its unbilieveable.
But i wish i could afford a PDA fone too

anyway
cheers

Hey Jesal,

There are tons of websites (UK based) that will give you the unlock codes for the o2 xdaII, but probably for a small fee.
An alternative is to look on messageboards and forums and they might have a few unlock codes that might work.
Just make sure you do not try too many times because the phone will lock after X number of tries...

cheers
