Hi,
6230i for me.
It's a decent phone with decent size, decent features (excellent I should say), and a decent price.

6630 is a smarthone and its the strength of the phone.

6230i is not a smartphone and hence batterylife and talktie are bound to be better than 6630.

so earlier you were comparing the 6630 with the 6230i which has a better lens, battery time and memory compared to the 6230 which i own.
from the earlier posts i understand that 6230i is almost as good as the 6630, but then does tha gap really open up between the 6630 and the 6230?

yes but only marginally. for battery life I would still suggest 6230/6230i over 6630. 6630 is more about being a smartphone with features and power(220mhz cpu)

The level of customisation....
So many softwares can be installed.

After using a windows smartphone (pocket pc).... I find it hard to use any other phone.

there has never been a proper definition of a smartphone and a non smartphone.

basically a smartphone is a phone which runs a Open ended OS like

Windows
palm
Symbian
Linux

3rd party vendors can develops softwares and applications which are universally applicable to all the phones inthe range.

usual non-smartphone usually runs on Java or Brew platforms. Not much applications except J2me applications are available for these.

I have written this down in my own words but a better definition maybe available on the net.

How doe sthis help? I wonder? I shifted from a 6230i to a O2 Atom and have not really benefitted from this. the 6230i was a good phone with decent abttery life.

the O2's camera is less usable than the 6230i. it only works well in good daylight but not in most indoor situations.

Windows Media Player is difficult to use on a phone.

I dont know why MS needs to use teh same interface on the phone as they door the desktop. these 2 devices are very very different in use and ability.
