I thought the D730 was available already. It is light, has a 2MP camera and is a clamshell. what features do you require most? the D830 should be coming soon too.

Assuming you are talking me. Yeah, E760 and E730 are available. But, they are just pretty phones, not much features. That's the problem with Samsung phones. Just beauty no brains.

Actually I don't even care about camera if I get a small form factor. My wife still uses and loves her old Nokia 6100, which is 102 x 44 x 13.5 mm, 60 cc 76 g. I know I can't beat that.

I want high-speed browsing (Wi-Fi, 3G,EDGE), business features, VOIP, etc. Even ready to rearrange my pocket to handle small barphone. Checking out E70, E60 for now.

If a windows candybar is fine then look at these. Have wi-fi, edge and some are lightweight.

samsung I750
nokia n91
qtek 8300/8310-imate sp5/sp5m-O2 xda trion
Nokia E60
Nokia E70
Nokia n80

Dunno which all are available in India though.

Look at Nokia N93 and you will also get a clamshell.

if you want wifi and a light phone what about the Samsung P200. it is slider though. another option is the Nokia 6136 which is a flip phone and should be out soon. there are windowws candybar phones like O2 (Orion) Imate and Qtek too.

I was thinking of buying SE P990i, but the poor Service & Support by SE India has deffered my plans. I called SE Customer helpline 3 times, but everytime it would be ringing and after sometime I get a wait tone.
If this is the Service, before I buy the phone, imagine if I had bought the phone and had some issues with it.
Rather, I would go for the Nokia N73.

Samsung i750 has everything you want except the 3G. Has a dandy visiting card scanner which allows you to capture physical visiting cards using the built-in camera.

A bit heavy, but quite nice - I would've taken it if not for the screensize. If you use your Pocket PC to browse the internet, the minimum acceptable size is the JAM/Atom/Eten screensize.

Don't think it is available anymore, this is little older model with only 64K colors. But Samsung still makes smallest phones in any form factor.

This is supposed to be a 'NEW' Samsung. Just released a month or so back in our markets....looks VERY snazzy, has a touchscreen with stylus and stuff, WiFi, Quadband GSM, 2 mp with Xenon Flash, et al...

Are you sure this is a little older model? Its priced more than the O2 Atom and the iMate Jamin.......cant be old.

Not according to GSM arena link, even my old E600 has 65K colors. It was announced in 2005 Q1, that's a long wait then. Why would they come out with a 65K phone now, most phones are 256K or even 16M colors.

You are right, it is new, but I am surprised they finally brought out such an outdated phone.

See this message in GSM arena forum from April 2006:
Quote:
Word is, this fone has been cancelled...for a second time! They started to develop it, cancelled it, tried to revive it and then realised that by April '06 it would be too outdated. They might be selling off some of the prototypes, but I don't think a full-scale production is going to happen now. Hopefully they'll go back to the drawing board and adjust it enough to bring out an improved version.
Wonder why they finally brought it out?
