I was facing another problem with the battery. It used to get discharged while i slept at night ie 8hrs. I stopped the automatic check for mail and the battery life improved though still not nearly as satisfying as my older nokia.

Also those who want unlimited plan try Airtel. Rs15 a day for GPRS unlimited and in most cities with EDGE. Though why i cant access the net with Net on Phone service which is cheaper ie Rs 5 per day.

Beware though my friends and i have a lot of issues with the charges for the GPRS service. BTW mine is prepaid so there is no way mistakes get rectified even after many calls.

wow, what happens if and when the iPhone comes to India? Would the users of the unlocked devices still need to play the cat and mouse with updates every month? Or would there be a way by which one could legatize the phone? Maybe if iphone is release with vodafone, would there be a way to lock it back to vodafone so one could be carefree?

I dont know how legit this is, but hypermarkets and large electronics stores in Dubai are openly selling the iPhone now. You can go and pick it up like you were picking up any other phone. I doubt if they are unlocked.

Its a small chip that goes in, along with your sim card and fools iphone into thinking that there's an AT&T sim inside.
You have to cut a small square section from your sim for this.

The sofware unlock is available so there's no need for the turbo sim unlock.

I've unlocked the iphone using Ziphone 2.2 & it's unlocked now & detect's Network but i can't receive or make calls, when i press Phone keypad to dial a number it just crash & get me back to homescreen :(

Download the iworld application and install it. Run it and select your country as India and you are good to go.

I've tried Installing "I-World" through installer application through Wifi but it keeps saying "Error package download failed".
