why don't you try the hackintosh forum for answers, if you hav'nt tried it out already.

Hi Sahil if you are registered on Demonoid you can get the pwaned firmware from there and just update your phone using Itunes ver8.

Go to iClarified. They have step by step instructions with screenshots an download links for all the stuff you will need. They have it separately for 2G and 3G, and then again separate pages for Mac users and Windows users. You cant go wrong with iClarified - johnda did his upgrade entirely based on their instructions.

Thanks for all the links,guys ! It did make life a lot easier.

So i finally upgraded to 2.1, but i find the phone a bit slower now.
When i click on anything the window pops up fast but the content takes much longer to load than it did on v1.1.1. Even if it is just an SMS that i am opening up.

This lag/delay is very annoying...Anyone else experience this ?

You're right Steer, You cant go wrong with iclarified.
guys, jus make sure you download the right ipws file (Mac or windows) that was my only glitch.
m4ugr8, you jus have to go to itunes store tru your itunes and add/download apps and when you sync it uploads on to the phone..

Found another bug in the 2.1

Even though the phones on with full network coverage, the number of smses i receive of missed calls from vodafone have increased since the upgrade. This morning i dialed my cellphone from another phone and the bell was on my end but my phone didn't ring in reality. Later i got an sms saying i missed a call send get to 53303 for info.

I hunched this was something to do with vodafones service but its too much of a coincidence that the frequency increased so much after the upgrade, even a friend of mine has been complaining of the same symptoms since he upgraded to 2.1

Any fixes for this out there or is the 2.2v coming out anytime soon?

I agree - the delay is damn annoying. Waiting for improvements in 2.2 or else I am going back to 2.0.2
