Onnly sim based unlock are available right now, so ensure you pick up the turbo sim thingie also. Understand the legality of using such unlocks in India also.

guys, just bought the iphone 3g today from vodafone. i am new to iphone and itunes.
i was trying to make an itunes a/c, but it asks for billing information and credit card stuff. i dont use a credit card, isn't there any other way to create an itunes a/c without all this mess.

I was experiencing severe delays on the iPhone, upto 15 seconds to for SMS etc to show even tho the window would pop up immediatly.
Just managed to resolve it- delete/uninstall winterboard !

Get back to the billing page, you see payment mode- Visa, Master, AMEXP. then you have (none). just select that and say done.
You are set. your email id and password will be your log in. Let me know if this fails. (oh BTW you must select India from your county drop down)

There was no option as none on the iTunes sign up . But searched the net and found a way to creAte a a/c without any payment info and I have made a US a/c and a UK a/c. But is there any way to create an India iTunes a/c without credit card. c

guys...I am very eager to jailbreak ... As the free games on app store are not that great, I want to download the paid stuff for free, and u need to jailbreak for it, right ? So, please tell me the simplest way to do it with complete steps involved. And what all software is needed and from where can I download it. .. I have updated to 2.1.

Ya I did it, I sign in with my email ID, did you choose India? you must do that then it'll take you tru the process, better still open your itunes and go to - Store - view my account - it'll go to the itunes store and then you can manually do the rest ( you can even choose country there) in payment section you select (none)

look out to iClarified - Apple News and Tutorials for most of your doubts.
and if u want links to cracked ipa files , then PM me , coz i think warez links are not allowed to be posted on the forum itself.

BTW , im also on FW 2.1 , it isnt all that great except for faster backups, leaving that 2.0 was better in my opinion.

Inferno, iclarified is the best bet on this. And i agree with you on the 2.1, Infact I was 1.4.1 and loved it. I think on 2.1 there seems to be a better Batt maintain, and also the number of Hangs have also come down.

guys, i checked out the india itunes page a tried creating the a/c again, but there is no option as 'none', it has only 3 options visa, mastercard and amex. before too i did change the country to india. also even if you want to create any international a/c such as USA or UK, there is no option as "none", but there is trick to get the "none" option through the "redeem code" option but this is not valid for the india a/c. i dont know how did you guys create an india a/c. i have itunes 8 installed.
have all of you jailbreaked the iphone or some still on the non-jailbreak phones.
after jailbreaking does the phone become slow or starts crashing or evrything runs fine.

I used these instructions a while back and got an itunes account without giving cc details.

Get your own special code

The tunecore site is no longer giving the codes required anymore so you may have to google for a working solution.

Apple has service center and i think you can go there, any specific issue you are facing? Is the phone unlocked/jailbroken? Hardware or Software issues?
