Did anyone tried Maps on iphone. I have US cracked version with me, but unable to use maps. I guess it uses google maps internally. Any suggestions

I use google maps, along with GPS does a good job

Maps in Iphone is used for location only

Trying to find one for navigation as well. Have already cracked the E90 Maps but still trying for iphone.

Nothing much, just switch to google map and click the square box in the bottom LT corner and it will show you the approx location by using cell triangulation, ie if the tower in the location you are in supports it. Unfortunately in India gmaps doesnt have direction or traffic updates yet, so without GPS (read as 2nd gen iPhone) not much of a use in navigation.

The Navigation , Direction and traffic is not available on the 3g with GPS too.

What i meant was with 3G you can atleast make out which direction you are moving in real time, which gives you a pretty good help in navigating, as i found out while we got lost inside chennai. What you are referring is direction guidance and traffic (not available in india with any software).

Direction Guidance is available on my Nokia E90. It shows the direction with voice.

i upgraded to 2.2.1 and unlocked it almost 2-3 days back. Infact I was looking iphone dev team's blog when they updated the link to torrent

2.2.1 is just a little more zappier than 2.2. The differences are all internals only i guess and nothing on the gui...

hey guys,
can somebody can tell me whats the latest price at which iphone 3G is available ?
i checked with Alfa(irla, Mumbai), the locked one with Airtel/Vodafone is available at around 29k while the unlocked ones(with 1 yr warranty) is available for 30.5k.
Also they can unlock the locked ones for 1.5k which I think one can do with some guidanace.
Is the price fair ?

new one shud be some 27 if i am not wrong

and you can unloack them urself in 2 mins for free using yellosnow

i was trying to downgrade my Iphone to base firmware but through iClarified - iPhone - How to Downgrade Your Baseband Using KiPhone , but now when i try to on the phone a man is coming on the screen with NPEBE text and i cannot on the phone...

HELP

What version of the firmware were you on before you tried to downgrade? And why are you trying to downgrade?

Ps. That iClarified page is from a long time ago, unless you are on the right firmware versions, it will cause a lot more harm than good.
