From yday demo it was clear that they are still ironing out some final issues/lags, so not yet ready for public release. Maybe they would want developers to get their apps 3 ready and also make some easy money out of people who are paying 99$ to try out the 3 Beta out.

June-July is the time when iPhone sheds its OS for a new one

EDIT: Ver 1 users be ready to upgrade your handset if you want stereo bluettoth, MMS etc. Apple says the hardware doesnt have the capability to support the same.

WHen you use it without update, it just accepts the sim but no signal is there. Only problem being i could not source the programmer. It looks like a simple sim reader to me.

Are you sure that you need a SIM card reader and not a SIM card writer?

Haave any of you tried Quick sms?

Its a brilliant piece of software for what it does.

It loads the sms menu in fraction of a second, much faster than any sms out there

Comes with a 14 day full version trial.

Has delivery report, smileys, much much more, which apple should have added.

Brilliaant app, has some bugs though, but still quite manageable and is thebest sms app i have used till date.

your best friend wont be so BEST after he pays through his nose for 1 iphone where he could have got 3 of his BEST friends the BEST phone.
Dude don't be ridiculous - jus get him to buy it from here, anyway he's paying right so let him pay less.

@ Jaggu that was a complete package. Sad that we'll have to wait that long!

SirAlec,

Writer is a little difficult to come across. As they can be used to "clone" sim cards. But, do we really need to update? hmm, will find out and come back with a solution for ya.

SirAlec,

You need a rebel sim card programmer. Let me know the city you live in, I will try and find someone who has a rebel sim programmer in that city so that you could update to the latest FW and use it with your 3g. Or, you might want to buy the programmer yourself as you can use it later when they release OS 3.0.

Sam,

Its a beta version and is meant for developers to test it out and develop applications. You would need your UUID to be added to some list on apple server, only then will you be able to update to 3.0 and jailbreak and unlock.
