Yes, s2 is a great camera. For those who want to spend a bit more, try the latest version S3 IS - 6 MP, macro down to 0, yes 0, live histogram and excellent quality stereo video clips. Even the Sony H2 and H5 are very decent.

any body has review on these ? any recommendation/suggestion most welcome.
My friend has Nikon Coolpix L1. Its good camera in the daylight but in the night quality of the pics is not up to the mark. Red-Eye reduction fails most of the time. It has normal pencil cells so battery life is poor and it takes a bit more time to get ready for next shot.
After using his camera, I bought S6 for myself and I am happy with it. It is sleek and compact. Easy to use (It has got Jog Dial so browsing is easy). Plus you get Wi-Fi. So you can connect it to ur Laptop wirelessly. If you go for nikon memory card is also cheap(Rs.975 for 1GB otherise for Sony it is Rs. 2000). Battery lasts for atleast 100 shots.

gigy is about right. But also recently s3 prices have dropped a bit, perhaps spending 4-5k more for warranty and freebies like battery charger/memory card, etc. may be a better overall deal. I believe JJ Mehta was advt. 26-27k official with these freebies. Of course, then grey market may have dropped to 19k so... your choice.

i think 19K is a ok price for the camera but anything above 20K and then i'd rather buy an H5 with bill/emi or probably pick up the S3 itself with bill at 25K. anyway before diwali for sure

The H5 was 29k at Vijay sales last time I checked and very little difference between h5 and s3, but there is a huge debate about this - google for it 'h5 vs s3 vs h2'. All three are great cameras, you cannot really go wrong with either one. Like a car - ensure you test drive the ones you short list and then decide.

It is an excellent place to learn by watching some masterful work. Some superb macro/wildlife/landscape work can be seen in the showcase. Some very good external links on post-processing is also available.

However, don't expect much feedback or comments unless you post some excellent images yourself. Be prepared to be ignored completely.

What I'm using now is a Canon 350D with a couple of lenses (hope to add 2 more soon). And my phone cam in SE K750i. Makes for a decent combo on the whole.

I just bought a Sony 7.2mp DSC-T50, decent camera with good features, im not a very technical user so it works for me. Was planning to go in for the 10mp N2 first which is slightly cheaper too but then i kinda liked this one more.
