Went ahead and got a "FULL HD" AOC 24" TV/Monitor LCD for 14k with bill and 3 years onsite warranty...Have connected it through a Logitech HDMI cable to my HOME PC and its awesome... Even the TV transmission is really neat!

Thank you guys! I am really enjoying life in full HD when using my computer which is running on an awesome resolution of 1920x1080 and it also satifies my TV needs......In the end i am a very happy man...

Thanks again greenhorn and amitk26.......

cheers

Bumping up this old thread - Seeking input from the experts.

My current media player is one of the 1st gen Popcorn Hour A110's, and almost nearing the end of its life.

Thinking of going in for an assembled HTPC, and running XBMC off it.
The recent version of XBMC Frodo 12.x seems to be very good and meets all my needs. (have the windows ver on my home laptop)
- Decent fanart / album metadata retrieval
- Good networking UPnP, SMB, NFS
- Good remote control apps on android
- Airplay (limited support)

Any pointers on the current good to best Graphics card offerings in the market would be much appreciated.

Also I dont think I would be wanting to spend on Windows just for a HTPC setup, would go for the Linux build of XBMC.

I see that the Acer Aspire Revo is quite attractive but a bit pricy.

Ps : I would go in for a min HDD right now as I already have enough external storage that I can hook up to.

Please let me know of a decent configuration.

I do not need any optical drives.

-Fillmore.

I too am looking at an HTPC, hopefully will base it off an AMD APU, something budget like the A4-5300M, so probably no need for the GPU even for 1080p video.
