Default Whats your preferred mobile browser?

my vote for opera mini. because
-free
-super fast because data is compressed
-less gprs data charges due to compressed data
-superb browser back, doesnt refresh, eliminates the need for tabbed brow
ing

in fact, i prefer opera mini to opera mobile.

I use both Opera mini (free) and Opera Mobile (commercial) on my Windows Mobile PDA. TBHP looks best on Opera mini.

Opera mini is the preferred browser on Nokia phone.

Other than Opera's what else do we have that user friendly and stable?

I like the Opera mini (free) too. Downloaded it onto my SE W700i and have used it more often than the standard browser that is installed on the phone by the manufacturer.

Opera Mini. Almost never use the stock browser on my E61i.
Are there any other options on the Symbian platform?

Depends upon your requirements.

Since I use HTC S710 (windows mobile 6 standard), my impressions are applicable only to similar phones

For normal fast surfing opera mini definitely.

However if you are using a smartphone/pocket PC/PDA and want to do things like a credit card transaction or access and operate your netbanking account or avail of features like opening multiple browser windows and downloading various type of files then opera mobile is simply the best browser available.

pocket IE (internet explorer) is inferior to opera mini (speed, ease of use, total data transferred)

There are other browsers like netfront (slow but almost desptop like rendering of web pages), iris (useless), skyfire (available only in USA as beta version, I have not used it)

The Stock Symbian Browser on my E90.

Used Opera Mini for a while, but I prefer the desktop-like rendering of the Stock Browser for TBHP and most other websites. It has its shortcomings, but still... You see, I prefer to see the web page properly (even if it takes a few seconds more), rather than see a reasonable OK version of it faster.

I still use Opera Mini to read some blogs that take a while to load on the stock browser (like Engadget etc.).

When I was using my Pocket PC Phone (XDA IIi, may his soul rest in peace), I preferred Opera Mobile for PPC2003SE. I used Netfront for a while -- it was pretty good -- till they brought out Opera Mobile for PPC 2003 SE.

Waiting for Opera Mobile 9.5 (with rumoured native support for the E90).

Opera mini!
I've spent more time browsing on Mini than on my desktop it seems. I simply love it for it's practicality, ease of use, price, stability, nimble size, well thought out features and GUI, faster rendering, mobile view etc.... The list continues.

Heard Mozilla is coming out with a java version of Firefox made for mobiles. It'll be very very interesting to see how it performs.

Just got the invite for beta and first 5 mts and am really impressed with the speed. wow! hint: iphone safari kinda look and feel, zooming (though no zooming by gestures).

This on my IPAQ win 5, cant wait to explore further, especially once i get my HTC Touch back from repair
