The Best Media Player ? - Team-BHP

Guys,

Which is the best free media player today (audio preferred) ? Things to be considered are user friendly interface , light on resources and support on the latest OS (like Vista) .

Am putting up a list of the more popular ones in the poll.

I really prefer the itunes, find it very easy to use and the equalizer with pre-amp is useful too for my tiny laptop speakers.

Few I use often:
Light weight: BSPlayer (easy interface), Media Player Classic (very light)
Heavy: WinDVD (I find that this can recover from bad CD/DVD), Windows Media Player (its from Microsoft !).

Winamp - without a doubt.A no non-sense,troublefree and light weight music player.

Although for videos is still use Windows Media player.

VLC MEDIA PLAYER.. with the FFDshow codec installed on your computer for free just google it. you'll never need anything else ever.

VLC... for audio & video... plays almost any format, though playlists are not supported I think. With playlists, WinAmp is the best for audio.

Ok for audio i have tried different players and to be frank i like Windows Media Player only for Audio. Its heavy but the quality of music is better. I dont know how, but when i play the same song on WINAMP, VLC, FOOBAR its doesnt sound so good. I dont use any equalizers or anything. I have used Itunes but i didn't liked it. I would suggest Foobar its very light. Just takes 200-500KB when minimized to system tray.

For video i use VLC or Media Player Classic. Though i love Neuview Player alot. Converts the video quality of a simple DVDRip to HD but uses a lot of CPU power.
