These maps come in SD cards which is compatible in all Garmin Nuvi series.
If you have enough memory in the device, you maynot delete the US/Canada Maps.

Pardon my ignorance. If the maps come in SD cards, then why should we worry about the memory in the device? Do we move the maps from the sd card to the device? Or we just load the sd card in the device and read the maps from there?

You may do both.
You can ALSO just load the SD card into the device and read the maps.

This device uses Navteq maps. Don't think either of the providers supply maps in Navteq format.

However, Navteq sells maps for India. Navteq is basically Nokia maps (Nokia acquired this company).

Call customer support on Navteq support to check if they would sell India maps for this particular device. Store URL : NAVTEQ Maps ? Buy the latest map update for your GPS navigation

All. I've just ordered India maps from SatNav for my garmin!
I mailed them first on a friday and was amazed at a very immediate reply from their sales/ cust service team. It was very prompt and precise!
They followed up and gave me all the confidence that this is one purchase I'd really enjoy.
This morning I finally decided to place the order online.
I was damn amazed at their response. Within 40 seconds of me placing the order, one of the personnel from Satnav called me on my mobile I mentioned on their website and said that My order is currently being processed. I should get the maps in an SD card by tomorrow evening!

I'd rate their service 10 on 10 till now. Satnav is also coming with maps of 620 cities. And I feel its pure VFM considering the fact that Satnav sells maps at 2K against MMI's 7K!
It was a very pleasant shopping experience.
BTW I got a garmin 265wt after much mulling!

I am not surprised, my experience too was awesome with Satnav as compared to their competitors. I have received a MIO device and soon I will sharing my experience with MIO compared to VX140 and Garmin Nuvi. So far, if we don't include Garmin's interface than SatNav MIO is leading as compared to MMI VX140.

I will keep everyone posted with a review shortly.

I have Garmin Nuvi 265WT, there is City Navigator® India NT that can be downloaded online at $99.99 from Garmin. How is this option for Indian Maps and it powered by NAVTEQ.

Coverage for this Garmin maps is same as Nokia maps. Both use Navteq data.

You can check coverage at Ovi Maps . It coveres ~100 cities.
