the worst is i can't even recharge my phone and the services are not working to the full extent.

This problem occured as a Tata Power transformer caught fire and exploded. The resultant fire gutted 2 switches that handle approximately 40% of Airtel traffic in Mumbai. The congestion did the rest.

Hota hai. They must've opened up the vodafone network for Airtel subscribers to roam on.

Roamware or other Inroamer marketing application would've sent the message across like they do to any other roamer.

There isnt much you can do if you lose two of your switches - contingency plans for mobile networks normally include an agreement to use the competitor's network - such plans are normally part of National Emergency requirements from the regulator.

Is airtel network down in Gurgaon today? Not getting the signal from noon...?
