Nokia E71 - Reviews, Software, etc.

I am in the market for a smartphone. I have narrowed down my choice to E71 and the SE P1i. Now, how good is the E71 for browsing as I would be doing a lot of browsing on it? Is the small screen size a problem?

The E71 is the best you could get. Why not wait for a few weeks for the new E72? That rectifies a lot of the faults of the E71. What say?

Hi guys,
sorry for posting for Motorola phone on Nokia thred but I am worried. My phone looks possessed. I have a Motoral Rokr E6 and from last one week it's continuously rebooting itself again and again non-stop. I am hardly able to use this phone now? can anyone guide or advise me on the problem with it ?? please

I like the E71, but one major pain while browsing is that the 5-way button in the center is a button.

To move around the webpage you have to click-click-click-click, which gets tiring after a short while. The blackberrys beat this by having that nice little trackball, which is much nicer to use.

However, the E72 (juuust around the corner) fixes the issue by having an optical key, so you use it like a laptop trackpad for scrolling around etc.

It will probably cost 24-25k Rs.

I hate to say this, but when it comes to web browsing, the iPhone (esp the 3GS) really is great to use...

On a serious note my E71 had a free fall from 2nd floor and before touching the ground it touched the metal railings ( once ) around staircase.

After all this it just suffered a minor dent near the speaker on top of the phone

Ok. So I took The plunge. I went back to my roots. I bought a Damn NOKIA!! My Firends all said they knew I would do it..but after the HTC issues, a nokia offers me peace of mind!


So Now, Lets discuss Softwares, Themes and Applications for this brilliant phone.

Similar slow down happened to my phone...

Did the following..

1) Updated the firmware
2) Removed all un needed s/w

Phone is good as new

What Memory card are you running? With the 1gig, It is quite quick, but with the 4 Gig, Its quite the opposite

Got myself a E71 today for 15,390/= (after 5% rebate on HDFC card) with car charger & an air ticket included from univercell.

When i try to send sms "ALL" to 2567 to get the GPRS settings, it fails. However im able to send sms to regular 10 digit mobile phones.

Please help!

When i try to switch the camera on it says "Camera feature not supported"

Hi Guys,

This weekend I was trying to download themes on E71, but kept getting this error which was related to some Certificate Expiration sort.

I was trying to download from ZEDGE.

Any better sites for themes?
