After the 3 month free license its pretty expensive, so a stand alone gps would work out cheaper. The maps are ok, not as good as mapmyindia, but passable. most of the new points of interest have not been updated.

Would suggest that you too look at hard resetting and then syncing your data. That usually solves the problem. I had this problem on my previous phone and hard restting, and then syncing helped to clear the mess.

Thanks.
Im sorted. This tip has done the trick. Its working fine since 3-4 days now. No issues. Thanks mate.

Ive also installed some applications which are of good use.
BIG Cinemas - Book Adlabs/ BIG CinemasTickets on Mobile.
Book My Show - Events, Plays, Movies.
Cricinfo - Ball by Ball update. Awesome.
Mera Mobi - Very useful application.
Gmail - Amazing application. Have been using it for nearly a year now.
Fring - Nice application to make calls n all. Downloaded this morning.
Google Maps - Very useful again. But consumes a lot of bandwidth.
Markets on Mobile - For the Sensex addicts.
Rocketalk - Useful social networking application.

Also tried downloading Skype, but strangely it does'nt have the e71 in the 'compatible phones' list.

Lemme know if they're any other applications one can download.
Thanks.

You could also try ngpay. It is similar to Mera Mobi, but has a much more robust list of partners. Also, ngpay keeps offering some amazing discounts. e.g. they were running a promotion for nearly 3 months for all Fame Cinemas in Mumbai - 50% off! Saved me a ton on movie tickets and also enabled me to watch ALL movies in Gold class/recliner chairs

Download the Skype application from the website, but choose E61. I did the same for my E61i and E51 and it works fine for me.

Other applications that I have
1. Yatra mobile ticket booking (Book Cheap Flights, Book Hotels, Holiday Packages Online, Travel Holiday Packages, Hotel Packages, Book Flights Online With Yatra)
2. IRCTC mobile application (IRCTCmobile :: Download Mobile Application ::)
3. Yahoo Go (Yahoo! Go. The best Internet experience for your phone. Period.)

To take a step back, let me ask you which handset are you using right now?

I upgraded from E50 to E61i, and then 'downgraded' to E51. I found E51 to be very fast (Symbian S60 OS 9.1 FP2), lightweight and loaded with features. If your email usage is mainly reading, the phone serves the purpose quite well. If you compose a lot of emails on your phone, consider a full QWERTY keypad phone like E71 or E61i.

Also, E51 has a very commendable battery life. Mine lasts easily for 2-3 days on an average with heavy calls/SMS/bluetooth and GPRS usage (but no or limited WiFi usage).

Another +point over E61i is a great improvement in voice quality. The speaker is loud enough to be heard clearly in Mumbai local trains and traffic. With E61i I had to concentrate hard on hearing what the other person is saying and many a times had to move to quieter locations also.

All in all, its a great value for money business oriented phone. Do not buy if you want a great camera or music player. These are not the forte of E51.

Go for the full black colour version of E51 and upgrade to the latest firmware as soon as you unpack it. Trust me, its one phone you would never want to replace.

Forgot to mention 2 other great applications:
1. Handy Blacklist (to block unwanted calls - very useful since the DND feature of our operators rarely works)
2. BlackBerry Connect Client
