Just upgraded to the 110.07.127 firm ware, if someone is trying it out , make sure u do a complete backup (Both mem card & phone memory).

Other than some updates & fixes browser " feels" a bit fast.

I have the Nokia E71-1 phone. It has the older firmware.

I tried to update it using NSU, but it says that there are no updates available :( Can anyone help? I am very sure that my phone has the older firmware (I have checked by pressing *#0000#)

@gopz: Please follow the link for downloading the software updater in the previous page and then follow the procedure. It works; after downloading the updater and running program make sure u make a backup and the connect the phone through the connectivity cable to update the firmware.

PS : Camera Zoom functions are smooth now, instead of the step by step zoom

A silly question:
Where the hell are the special keys. i.e ( _ " ) $ % = etc. Most are on the keypad, but i was unable to find brackets while typing an email yest.

Also, how can one assign ringtones to contacts? There is no option whatsoever available.

open the contact (dont edit, just open/view) and then select options and then ringing tone

just picked up a nokia e71 white,

costed me 20,100 with the bluetooth headset,

upgraded the firmware to: 200.21.118.

intial impression: one awesome phone!!

ps: guys one small doubt, did the 2gb memory card come for you in a seprately in the box or was it inside the phone? mine was inside the memory slot of the phone.

this was the cheapest i got, along with the bh-102 bundled headset.

Yep, its 19K w/o the headset and 600 more for the head set.

Just got a E71 as a gift from a Finnish Client and its the made in Finland piece.
Steel n White combo. very ravishing to look at
Wondering how i can transfer my contacts from my old 6300 to this one ?
Tried pairing both and then synchornising.
It doesnt happen :(
Any tips is highly appreciated

Try using Nokia PC Suite content Content Copier. Haven't tried though.

Try to use the Switch application, that comes preinstalled with the phone. It works only with 'compatible' models though, worked for me when i transferred all my contacts from the Nokia 6630 to the E71.

oh ok, hey which store offered it for 19k then if you dont mind me asking?

yup, its working perfectly fine buddy, dad's using it and he is finding it as comfy as his BH-209 ear piece

guys, any good anti virus for the phone? am currently putting it up in the usb mode and doing an anti virus scan from the comp, will that be enough?
