Default Unable to Install JAWA!! Help!!

Guys, Had anyone tried recently downloading the Latest JAWA from the SUN microsystems website?? It downloads, it starts to install and then it comes as UNPACKING ERROR!!

Is there a way to Install JAWA apart from the SUN MicroSys website??

I did a search for JAwa but found no results.

Try yezdi, i heard it has less problems than the Jawa.

On a serious note, you got no help from google because you were searching for the bike. Try java instead!

Unpacking error indicates either a broken download or a corrupt file. try some other source.

Yes, another source or even another saving location.

Bawa is always in love with Jawa!

That's more interesting.

Download the offline version, which includes everything and won't connect to the net to download the rest of the installation files:

trouble installing Java ??? ... now if it was Microsoft Dot Net i would have had some sympathies. But Java ..has to be a corrupt file. Try downloading again.. Should not have any problems.
Did you download it from here??

I hope you have a good anti virus before you use LimeWire or any other p2P application as they are famous for Spyware/trojans etc...be very careful. At least avoid doing any financial transactions from the computer/network where you have any P2P installed.

I do have a good antivirus. Actually an excelent Antivir. I have been using Limewire since the last 4 years and have never faced a single problem.

BTW, here is the screenshot of what it says when you try and install it.

Tell us how you are installing - there are two methods, one being the online installation (http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/downlo...BundleId=29225), which is a 221 KB file that will connect to the website to download the required components. The other being the offline install (http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/downlo...BundleId=29219), about 15.5 MB in size and will not connect to the web for installing.

If you have tried one of the methods, try the other one. Sites like filehippo also have Java's latest and the older versions (Download Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0.13 - FileHippo.com), give them a shot.

Hi Cyrus

Could be the stray files left over by a previous installation attempt thats causing the problem.

Did you try some steps mentioned in this forum?
java.net Forums : Error 25099: Unzipping core files ...
