You can try avidemux - though I am not sure if it would be adequate for your requirement.

Is there anyway i can use OSX on PC?

I would want it to be standalone and not using a Virtual Machine.

Is it possible?

You can explore `hackintosh' (disclaimer: I have not tried it ever).

The quality of the "OS" is subjective. I love Mac hardware, but hate the OS. To me configurability matters and OS X is as configurable as one of those OSs found on mobile phones (just my opinion)

I bought the i7 core iMac for the hardware. It is on Win7 90% of the time, 8% time on Linux and 2% of time on Snow Leopard. That's a rough gut feel estimation of my usage pattern.

No offense, I find Win7 lot more productive that Mac OS. That is probably because of familiarity. And I don't feel there is too much difference anymore.

Thats cause with every new iteration, Windows has added most of the features found on OSX

I guess its to each his own. The only thing I felt was for a home desktop/laptop MAC works way better as there you can browse anywhere and everywhere without the slightest fear of Virus attack ( as core is Unix).

I kind of "forced" a macbook to my wife. Initially she was unwilling. Now it has come to a stage, when I asked her, what happens, when the current macbook breaks? Quite came out a chuckle and and then the answer... We buy another macbook!

But as you say its only familiarity.

Now finally after a long wait of 5 years going for the intel based imac 3.06processor,21.5 with OSX snow leopard. It is still on the way and expected on 23rd Sept. Let me join you with the pros and cons of my Imac. Planning for Microsoft office 2008 for Mac. Is it o.k or iwork is better. Please suggest.

iWorks any day. If you have 2 days to get used to it, you wont use Msoft for the next 2 yrs. Excel was the "kingmaker" and trump card that MS trumpeted. now Numbers can do everything excel can do. Us getting to unravel that is the battle.

I prefer iWork anytime. Pages is far better than Word, for me. I don't use Numbers often but Keynote gets the crown from Powerpoint.
