No sweat. You happy with your "instant on" thingy from sleep mode? It still takes like 3-4 seconds for me.

Anybody having problems like Lion waking up from sleep even in lid closed mode? Never experienced that with leopard or snow leopard. Also, lion runs sluggish on my 2008/9 aluminum MacBook with 2.4 C2D having 2 gb ram. Comments? Safari eats away all my ram and gives me the beachball quite often.

^^^ I don't have Lion yet but this has been my observation too. My new MBP (6th Gen) has slowed down quite a lot in just 6 months of usage. My old MBP (4th Gen) had no signs of slowing down for almost 2 years. Beachball has become a norm nowadays for me.

Upgrade to 4GB of ram. Move to Chrome. Lend me your Laura when I'm in Mumbai next.

Do you guys run disk utility and repair disk permissions regularly? Or use Cocktail. Never had an issue of speed slowing down in my 8 year old Powerbook.

A couple of links from around the web, on the aftermath of Steve Jobs' resignation as CEO.

An article on Steve Jobs' influence on cars, though its dry on details.

And here are some of Steve Jobs' best quotes

Is anybody here using a relatively new macbook air? Do the new Mac book air's come with the mini display port? If not, how would I connect it to say a TV (via HDMI)?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

The link on apple.com

MacBook Air (Original), MacBook Air (Late 2008), MacBook Air (Mid 2009): External ports

AFAIK, the 2011 Macbook Air doesnt come with HDMI/Mini display.

Thanks for that link RECOMPOSE.

That's what I thought. It looks like Apple has removed the mini display port off of the new macbook air's right? I wonder why they did that.

I really like the air, but I don't think I would buy one just because of the absence of this port.

Interestingly, if you go onto the apple website, and select the option to configure your laptop, they still have the option to buy the Mosh Mini DP to HDMI converter. Any ideas why they would do that, if the new macbook airs dont have the port?

You need to buy a separate adapter. See apple.com for that.

You're talking about the Mosh Mini DP to HDMI converter right? (I've been doing a little research myself !) What's interesting is that the new macbook air's don't seem to come with the mini display port any more.

But, if you go onto Apple.com and customize the macbook air, they still offer the converter as part of the macbook air's accessories even though the macbook doesn't even have the port! I don't understand why they would do that? Or am I missing something here?

mini display interface/protocol also works through the thunderbolt port.
You can use a mini display to HDMI converter from the thunderbolt port.
