Default Using IPOD touch with ADSL WiFi router

I was looking to buy myself an IPOD touch 8 GB second generation.
Basically i have airtel wifi router at home, which i currently i am using for my desktop. Occasionally i use my laptop's wifi connectivity to browse internet (256kbps is the speed).

Since Ipod touch has wifi connectivity, will it be possible to use the wifi same way as a Laptop? That is connecting it via Wifi to Airtel ADSL Wifi router and surfing sites (specifically Youtube) on iPod ?
Has any tried it? Are there any performance issues?
Is there any brand other than Apple having a similar device ?

Yes, it is possible to use the wifi in the same as a Laptop. I regularly browse through Youtube, Team-BHP and many other sites. There's an email client and an IM client too. BTW, I use Airtel broadband as well. So it pretty much is the exact scenario that you are thinking of

I think Sony and Creative have their MP3 players supporting wifi.

I use my phone Samsung Jet to browse through Wifi. Youtube is exceptionally well also Facebook. I can also download songs from net. To my surprise I can see the Youtube video in 256Kbps speed without hanging in phone. In laptop usually it stops for buffering.

Hope you can do similar things with your IPod.

I have a iPod Touch 2G, and connect to internet via wifi.

The browsing experience has been quite good so far. Haven't encountered any issues.
