i am asking my cousin to bring me ipad 2 3G + wifi 16 GB version, it will cost me around 26k in indian rupees, i need to know that is ipad required to be Jailbreak ed, or it will work fine as it is when bought to india.

No iPad does not require jailbreak or unlock to use it anywhere in the world

While calculating US price, please include the respective state tax, though i understand there is a way to refund it at the airport while exiting the country.

thanks for the reply, yes there is a TRS scheme where the GST can be refunded at airport, i think the price of ipad and ipad 2 are same across all the countries except that it Ipad 2 is still not launched in india, is there any advantage of buying the product from the australia except that ipad 2 is not launched in india, there can be chances where ipad 2 is priced higher in india.
i think it will cover international warranty in india as well.

I signed up for a month's contract from AT&T for iPad & got confirmation too. After that, iPad never connected with 3G - it gave connection error. I went to the Apple store Genius Bar and they said the iPad is defective & will be replaced.

I got a replacement in 2 days time. But when they inserted my original iPad sim, there is no 3G connectivity again. Finally they figured out that the sim is the problem, replaced the sim and transferred my data plan. Now my iPad works with 3G.

I will be getting my Ipad 2 in a month from U.S. Hoping to replace my laptop for most of the tasks.
I would have loved to own the HTC Flyer. Really love the stylus and the way it works. But then most tablets are costlier than Ipad and are not that smooth and simple with the UI.

i am waiting for Ipad 2 to hit indian shores, it should happen like in case of ipad where indians had to wait for a period of 10 - 11 months, seems apple is least interested in indian market.

iPad 2 with ZooGue Case (ZooGue). This case is way far better than $40 Apple case. This costs $50, but there is $10 discount with promo code (ZGRUIZ2). Here, iPad 2 is playing 4GB HD movie in MKV format. And playback is smooth.

Yes, till I reach Bangalore

Initially I wanted one for me & another for my friend. I got one and after using for few days, I dropped the plan of buying one for me. I am giving this to my friend.
I would say the sound level is medium. But since you hear traffic noise, I would recommend ear phones for better movie experience. Otherwise its good enough.

Since I am driving, its not for me either. It keeps the kids busy with cartoons, youtube, without investing in ICE.
