Wohoo! What an amazing pricing.

But it is not a high-priced Samblung or Arple phone. So it must be a pathetic phone actually *

I think its the biggest selling premium phone in China. Its just that their business model is totally different. So I am hoping for a much better reliability. More importantly, I hope it brings some amount of sanity to mobile phone pricing by letting OEMs relook at their pricing policies and business models.

No, it is pirate[s]. I suspect you might be thinking of privateers!

I missed the references. What were they? Also why would they switch from desserts to a cheese?

Also, here's an interesting viewpoint on why Google won't reveal the "L" name until its launched: LINK

Hold your horses.

To quote Tanveer, if the specs are for an arabian horse, the performance (IMNSHO to my utter shock) is more like a weak overworked indian victoria horse.

The phone wasn't laggy, but it wasn't snappy either. Not like the almighty snapdragon 800 - think of latencies that are predictable but visibly slower than the flagships.
http://appglimpse.com/blog/touchmark...een-latencies/ - this would be at the lower end of the scale as per my 15-20 min playing with the device. (sample set of 1 btw).

The look/feel is simply awesome btw.

I would recommend letting other early adopters buy it, then see it in person before deciding!

EDIT: see links such as this - http://www.dazeinfo.com/2014/04/14/h...sales-q1-2014/

Did not get your context of the two links.

Hehe, I was being sarcastic - note the * in the end. I love the specs of the phone. Not a fan of high-priced mobiles.

Oh yes! It is indeed pirates. Pirateering is an actual verb - though not sure it can be used in this case. Thanks! We'll move this discussion to the A YetiGuide® : How To Post In Proper English

My context is that the phone is beautiful, stable BUT it is not as responsive as Apple / Samsung Note 3 etc. So the outright blazing responsiveness / snappiness you'd expect from a snapdragon isnt really there - within each app, things fly well.

The CNet review talks about the visual appeal and is totally silent about the responsiveness. THAT was where I was really disappointed with the MI3.

May be it is chennai specific but here in Pune youtube videos are working fine on BSNL ADSL.

I suppose it has got something to do with the software.

It simply may not be as fine tuned as what you get from the other mainstream manufacturers, I'm just guessing here.

uh - MIUI is as polished as any other android, up there with HTC sense or touchwiz. Its rock stable.

All I'm saying is - let someone else buy, and then you can buy after being satisfied on this one aspect!

Thanks. Read some more about it. The online only model seems to be working well for them. With the kind of promotion they are doing via the social media channels, no wonder if the first lot is sold out within hours (or even mins) of launch.

The guys over at Samsung/Sony/HTC must be nervous - earlier it was the Moto G, then E and now this! Seems like all the action has suddenly shifted to the sub-20k segment!

Acche din aane wale hain, for sure
