I shifted from Reliance CDMA to Reliance GSM, so I guess I am a zero gain zero lost customer?

Ashish its pretty easy
1. Go to Reliance shop, pay your bill and unpaid bill till the day.
2. Fill up the form and submit address proof and ID proof, for prepaid only id proof is needed
3. They will give you a sim after a day

However actual porting will take 7 days. I submitted application on 25th Jan, and I am told I will be ported around 2nd Feb or so

The link that I posted was just an example, and its worded incorrectly but the figures are the actual ports.

I am privy to the figures of one major telecom that is listed in the article you posted, and hence I know that the net additions figures are way off. Maybe the figures you've posted are per day / per circle or something but they are definitely not pan India.

I had applied for MNP on my existing Airtel number.
I had got a call asking me the reason why I want to switch. After giving them the reason, I got another call informing me that my call plan has been changed.

My current call plan is as follows :
Local calls :30ps (Per min)
STD : 40ps (per min)
Airtel to Aitrel (Night) @ 10 p per min,
Free 100 SMS everyday.
Plus they credited Rs 25 in my account.

By seeing this, I applied for MNP on my mom's post paid connection.
She got a 15% discount on her telephone bill for the next 6 months.

May god really bless MNP

I dont know why people think prepaid subscribers do not want or have to retain their number, I have being using the same number for almost 6 years and I am on prepaid. I don't want to change my number. BTW, almost 90% of mobile subscribers in India are on Prepaid and mobile companies cannot ignore them.

Very insightful post, thanks for sharing! How much of it has to do with the fabulous Idea pre-MNP advertising? I mean, their ad budget outdid others by a mile. And some pretty remarkable ads too.

I'm not surprised in seeing Vodafone at No. 2 (awesome operator, I'm very happy with them) and that Reliance ended up a loser.

Guess i need to show Airtel the stick as well. There are innumerous call drops within my apartment when i try making a call. All previous written complaints went without any proper resolution.

I filled the form on 24th, on 25th they put it in system and gave me a sim
On 27th I get sms that my number is in process.
Yesterday I checked on the status, and it says its in process.
According to Reliance, it will be done around 3rd or 4th (7 working days).

Since hardly anybody is shifting to reliance GSM, I wonder why do they need full 7 days!

Me too moving from CDMA to GSM. I filled the form on 26th and they gave me a SIM. No news after that.

Where did you check status? Is it with customer care or any external site?
