I have filed a complaint with the Noida Officer Delhi, after taking details from rcom website. That have promised to resolve it ASAP. Since its a reliance to reliance port request, I am not being put through the excuse circus when porting to other networks(Its their fault etc.,)

I believe most of us should have waited a bit to see the transition (portability) and also to see how various operators react in this *new* market.

I have a BSNL pre-paid connection. It was giving me trouble in '06-'07 so got myself a Reliance CDMA post-paid along with it. It was pretty cheap then.

But now, the scenario has changed. My calls anywhere on a BSNL no. in India is @ .20P/per min. and others @ .40p/per min.* I am pleasantly surprised at this outcome.

Butttt both take turns in getting themselves "congestion in network" syndrome.

And now how much I wish to keep just one no. (or one mobile), I can't.

* I am using a voucher of Rs. 999 INR for a year for this service. (No money is refunded).

Coolclouds, whats your status. Are you invisible too still?

I wonder why does TRAI have no complaints section to give complaints against errant operators.
As per TRAI policy they do not act on individual complaints. That's what they have said on their website

Going by the circus that is there, basically by this portability thing you dont retain your number and switch operators but you 'lose your number' - no matter which operator (na idhar ka na udhar ka)

A mobile number is so essential these days that you cant just leave it hanging in this portability thing for a few days together (and be invisible/incoming barred) etc.

After 5 days of disconnection, finally my reliance GSM connection is active. A couple of calls for Reliance customer care, and my GPRS is also working now, though speed is around 40kbps, going upto 80kbps sometimes.
3G will give faster speeds, but the plans are still too costly.

Complain to nodal officer. After that your phone will be "incoming barred" for a few days. And then it will shift to new network

Finally, it happened!!! but only 25%

One of my two cdma numbers has been shifted to gsm network.
Outgoing of the number on gsm network is active but incoming is not working.
I am still waiting for another cdma number to be shifted on gsm network.

ported my number to vodafone, started working within 7 days.

GPRS is not working though.

Vodafone has good offers for MNP customers in Karnataka.

Only one of my six family connections is a CDMA Reliance. I last checked the balance on 11 Feb as 59.22

Since then, my charger malfunctioned and I only found a replacement today. On charging, I see my balance has reduced to -0.78 a deduction of Rs.60 while the phone was switched off for 16 days.

On calling customer care, I am told that caller tunes, SMS pack and missed call alerts were activated.
This is utterly false, since you hear the normal ring when calling the number and i am not able to send any SMS as well.

The customer care exec disconnected the phone asking me to call *333 and speak for 50p

Have sent my request for porting and got the code. Let's see if they call back to bargain.

Hi
Though i have certain issues with airtel more often then not they sort it out with satisfactory result and i intend to stick with them and will not change my portability for now. Maybe for ever. Compared to getting a bill of 15000 per month in 2006 with reliance i hope i can manage airtel with better results. Cheers.

I was always of the mind that there is ALWAYS a loophole in India for everything, and one can even get away with murder if he/she exploits the loophole in some way.
Mobile Number Portability was about to change that idea, but I just received a message on my Dad's no (Loop Mobile) that reads like this:
REQUEST REJECTED BY DONOR DUE : SUBSISTING CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS FROM THE SUBSCRIBER AGREEMENT.

NOW, an absolutely HOPELESS service like Loop Mobile that dare to even call themselves mobile service providers (dropped calls, frequent cross connections, extremely poor network etc) has the guts to send a message like this when ALL OUR DUES are clear, ALL VALUE ADDED SERVICES unsubscribed, and EVERYTHING else in proper order.

I am so angry that I can go to any lengths to get my message across to the highest of authorities.

Please guide me through this.

This is a NEW MENACE FROM Telephone Companies against Mobile Number Portability, their nemesis.
