299 usually gets you an unlimited emails plan. Never heard of one for data as well. I've moved to Vodafone's 899/m corporate plan with unlimited data. Will see how tethering goes with this.

I have asked him to show me the bill next month when he receives it. I am interested to know this as well. About the service books, I'll tell him to look up and set them right.

Don't know if you can run the Bolt browser on our OS, but it has the ability to do so. Else look for XENOZU YouTube Player. Its a free app.

Get Viigo, add the Youtube channel. You can then browse through videos and clicking them results in the media player opening and playing the video.

On a different note, is anyone using the Blackberry Internet Service Corporate @ 899 plan on Vodafone? I just switched to it and it seems like they actually calculate the full usage, charge it, and then put an equal amount of discount in the proper monthly bill. So in a day, my bill had jumped up to Rs. 4500 and I got an SMS saying that the bill was nearing my credit limit (Rs. 6000 back then). So I had to manually raise my credit limit and talk to the CS reps. Apparently, this is how it works, so going by my daily usage, I will need a credit limit or around Rs. 60000 just to be able to make calls till the end of the month. Fools.

Has anyone found an SSH client that works on Blackberry with Vodafone? Tried midpssh, didn't seem to like the way Vodafone handles unsigned applications, as in, not allowing them any network access at all.

Default Facebook on BB299 plan?

When I recently visited Facebook for Blackberry website, it said the following:
Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones v1.7 can only be used if you have access to the Browsing service. If you don't have access to the Browsing Service, download Facebook for BlackBerry Smartphones v1.6.

Is it true that the latter would work on the Rs.299 per month plan then?

Prajwal....dont know if there are any "authorized" guys in Blore. You are better off going to a decent repair guy. Depends on where you are staying. You can go to Burma Bazaar area. There is another one called SN Bazaar there. Shop No 13 - he is very good. I have used him a couple of times and found him to be honest and resourceful.

There is one on Bannerghatta Road somewhere. Ask Airtel - they know. And yes, they replace the trackball.
