Default Tata Bolt vs other B2-segment Hatchbacks

Hello guys, here's another comparison:

With the Tata Bolt being the newest kid on the block, I have made a comparison here outlining it versus the B2 hatchbacks.

I have put the Tata Bolt to test v/s Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki Ritz, Fiat Punto EVO, Ford Figo, Hyundai i10 Grand, Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo, Honda Brio, Toyota Liva, Renault Pulse, Nissan Micra and Chevrolet Sail UVA..

All the data has been collected from their respective manufacturer's brochure's.

------------------------

What I have done in this comparison:
  1. Specifications
  2. Features
  3. Prices - City wise (Major ones)

PS: Any errors in these please accept my apologies.

NOTE: I am against VW as they have not given prices of their cars city-wise like the rest manufacturers have done. I am not sure what is so secret about it for asking a customer to visit the dealer to find out the prices.

Thanks Anurag for the detailed comparison.

The Punto Evo prices for Ex-Showroom(New Delhi) on Carwale are as follows :

Petrol variants -

Active 1.2 : 4,98,450/-
Dynamic 1.2 : 5,41,101/-
Emotion 1.4 : 7,22,723/-

Diesel Variants -

Active 1.3 : 5,93,046/-
Dynamic 1.3 : 6,55,461/-
Emotion 1.3 : 7,19,322/-

Fiat yet to update the Ex-Showroom prices on their website after the withdrawal of the benefit of excise duty?

That's what I too doubted as to whether all manufacturers would have updated the 'prices' section post the withdrawal!

Did Fiat announce any price increase for the new year above the excise duty increase?

The price of Emotion 1.4 was 6.72L before excise hike.
If we consider the excise duty increase, i.e 24% to 27%(8% to 12% for 1.2 and 1.3 models), it'll become 6.88L.

The price of 7.22L comes only if 5% is added to 6.88L. I doubt Fiat would have bumped it by 5% since going by Carwale's own price list, the price of 90HP sport is bumped only by 1.3% above excise increase. I think the price list is Carwale's own speculation. Please correct me if I'm wrong

PS One more possibility is, Fiat hasn't sent any 2015 manufactured car out of its factory gates yet, hence no updated prices on its site till now

Could be.

I am tracking the OTR prices in New Delhi/NCR as I will soon be in the market looking for a hatchback.

Every(?) manufacturer have increased their prices and has updated their website. The same has been reflected on Carwale as well, hence the question.

I had two minor things to point out:
a. Sail UVA diesel turning radius isnt 10.3m - seems to be an errata.
b. Elite i20 turning radius is 5.2m - something people used to endlessly joke about on fiat's famed 3 point turns, but surprisingly no one jokes about i20 as much

Oh yes, I juts realised after I saw the brochure again.

What all manufacturers do is mention it as Turning Radius. What Chevrolet has done is mentioned it as turning diameter, so 10.3 m becomes 5.1m turning radius.

Apologies for the error.

Sorry for the delayed response.

I saw the updated price list and yes, what you had mentioned earlier was indeed correct.
Really surprised that they have done such non uniform price increase across the range and boosted the 1.4 FIRE's prices so much. Looks like they're planning to price the T-Jet on par with the VW TSI.

What's the need to boost the price so much only to offer huge discounts later on? Better pricing from the beginning will always be better than this strategy IMO.
