Exclamation ABS in WagonR Vxi model!!!

Hi everybody,
I'm planning to purchase the New WagonR Vxi model and as i plan to take it on tours during weekends, I'm thinking of choosing the ABS model. But as the dealers and maruti udyog call center people are not clearly specifying whether it is a two wheel ABS or a four wheel ABS. Can you please explain this in detail.thanks for all,

Regards,
Kiran.

All passenger cars are supposed to have Four wheeled abs.Its only the Vans and suv's,pickup trucks which have either two or four wheeled abs feature.

Though taken from a US article think this rule should apply universally.

If vehicle has ABS then its for all 4 wheels. Otherwise it won't make sense to have ABS. However not sure about Maruti Udyog Cars how ABS works because they are one company in India who produced poor quality cars as far as safety goes.

Here is view according to me ->
MUL gives importance to economy rather than safety. This is what most of the car onwers felt after using MUL cars.

No bad feeling to MUL car owners here I am not hurting anyone here, but its fact about safety stuffs of MUL cars if its ABS or air bag or chassis or or brakes or impact absorb points so on... I also used and travelled MUL cars what I can tell you is MUL car has everything except safety and good quality material.

I vote for MUL for economy, resale value, easy to drive, wide service network. I am against MUL for its lack of safety, minor defects, bad finish of body/beeding/any material you see.

Regards,

Ravi.

Just curious to know how this whole concept of two wheeled abs for wagonr came up. ARAI will not consider a passenger car roadworthy if it has ABS only on two tyres. Two wheeled/rear wheeled abs is present in the larger vehicles like trucks only so that they do not skid sideways.

If you are still not convinced that the wagonr has abs on all four wheels why not ask the dealer to show you a wagonr[abs] without its tyres at the service station.

I haven't yet heard of a sedan having 2 wheel ABS in India, did you spring this question at the call center guys?

AFAIK, ABS kits are for all four wheels.

A colleague of mine has ABS on his Wagon R VXI but he was equally foxed by your query as he has never specifically checked.

I hope there's no confusion in your mind between ABS & Airbags?

I discussed with my freinds, what they say is Swift ABS is really good. Its great at work when breakes are applied and gives confidence. Swift and WagonR are cars in different segment. Swift gives better stability than WagonR because of its body/chassis. As per my knowledge If you go with Maruti ABS car Swift ABS is the best one. I am sorry I could not find any WagonR ABS owners.

Regards,

Ravi.
