Question swift (zxi/vxi) is zxi vfm?

hi guys,
After much speculation over which car to buy, i have finally settled down between the getz and the swift. I test drove a 1.1 getz and also the swift.(i have not driven the 1.3 getz as i felt it was overpriced and not vfm). To be frank i felt that getz was a bit sluggish and i felt the need for more power. On the flip side i am content with the td of swift over the getz for obvious reasons. So i am planning to book it in about two weeks time. This is my 1st car so i have no plans of resale in the next 5-6 yrs. As i plan to keep the car for long i am wondering if it would be good if i go for the fully loaded zxi version. Is zxi vfm? Or am i better of going in for a vxi? Initially i thought of buying a vxi and then spruce it up with most of the features from the zxi, but on doing so i felt i am bringing down the difference of cost between the two cars and i could as well go for the higher varient by shelling the difference amount. So guys please let me know if i am right or wrong and also which varient would be better and vfm.

@karty : Go ahead and get yourself the ZXi. It never does hurt to be pampered by the goodies it offers over the VXi and while you're at it, do go in for the ABS version.

That aside, even if you do decide on the VXi, plz opt for ABS.

Do go on for the Zxi. Its VFM proposition at its price is simply brilliant

Feature provided in ZXi are not available in any car in this segment. There are different thoughts to define VFM. These features are surely VFM if price is not a concern. If you think you hardly need Auto Climate, defogger in that case Vxi + ABS makes sense. Choose you options.

Karty, Go for ZXi...It is very expensive to spruce up VXi to the level of ZXi, Like the auto climate control, Airbags, ABS etc. These might be standard features in a car a few years from now.

IMO zxi is not VFM, but then again its my personal opinion... I don't like the stock alloys on zxi and would've changed them anyway, auto climate control (though brilliant) can be lived without and the rear demister and wiper will be used maybe twice a year... that only leaves the airbags and since 80-85% of my driving will be within city limits, I hope I'll never miss them !!

PS: I booked a Swift Vxi+ABS last saturday VFM is a very subjective topic and for me Vxi won over Zxi...

ZXI is well worth the extra money if budget isnt an issue.. Else VXI with ABS isnt bad at all! But do get the ABS..

VXi is defintiely VFM, no doubt about that. Considering that karty has the excess moolah to pump in, the ZXi makes sense. Its a different game altogether when one begins to think that for the price of the ZXi, you could might as well opt for a car with a boot.

I'd say take the VXi with ABS and do the accessorizing yourself (if you enjoy this kind of stuff). This way you have more control over what exactly you want to put in.

ZXi is a better choice if you want to avoid the "headache" of customizing it yourself.

Thumbs up ZXi!

ZXi dude!! You won't regret! Forget VFM, the drive feel, comfort, goodies, safety etc etc are all far far better in ZXi model!! You can feel the differance by TD-ing ZXi AFTER VXi or LXi!! Its so different!!!
Go get a ZXi!!

The airbags alone make the ZXi a safer bet. Plus, if you have the budget, I really don't see why not. On a small car like the Swift, additional safety features like airbags can literally be the difference between life and death. Go for it!

Probably because the Zxi comes with broader (185/70 R 14) tubeless tyres and alloys, whereas Vxi has 165/80 R14 tubed tyres and steel wheels. That should make a lot of difference in ride, handling and performance. To me this is the most attractive feature of Zxi, as compared to Vxi.

It has to be the Zxi. It is future proof with ABS, Airbags, Automatic Climate Control, wider tyres, alloys, seat height adjuster, rear defogger. Considering you are planning to keep it for 5-6 years it's a very good bet.

I have a 2006 Zxi and it is simply awesome. Am willing to replace my 2006 Baleno which I am pretty happy with for the SX 4 but touch the Swift Zxi - I WILL NOT.

Go for it, you will not regret it.

I got the ZXI after similar thought and have not regretted it since. Have fallen in love with the climate control. The other safety features I hope I never get to use. Am using the defogger very regularly so it was a must have for me right from the begining.

If budget permits go for the ZXI ! Also only the ABS,Alloys and remote entry can be installed on the VXU can be added on as an option - none of the other items can be fitted on.
