| Planning to choose between Ikon CNG or Swift Vdi, based on: 1. 80 KM daily running 2. Low maintainece costs 3. Good punch to the drive 4. Budget max = 5.5 L I know the two are in different segment but Ikon is the only sedan with CNG which is in my budget. Please help. Thanks Udit

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | udit, did you take a test drive of the CNG version of the Ikon Flair? Make sure you do that first as it would help you decide on whether the car drives the way you expect it to. The Swift LDi should fit into the budget you have put aside, and clarifying on the Ikon will help to make the deciding process easier.

| test drive and then decide. i would choose iKON for comfort, highway rides and swift for more pep (turbo band) and ease of use in traffic

| If you want a true Drivers car nothing beats Ikon in its segment even today . I am not sure about the CNG but given the choice between the two it has to be Ikon . I am enjoyin mine since years and still not bored . |

| I have CNG in my Ikon 1.6 which is an after market job. Got it installed a month ago from govt authorized fitment center. The kit is Landi Renzo. Udit to tell u franky the test drive of Flair CNG wouldn't give you a fair idea as I don't think u can take a TD for around 20kms. A short TD doesnt really tell u the true story. I have test driven swift VDI and it is surely more peppier than Ikon CNG. You need to get used to CNG for a while and then only you can appreciate it. I find my car more "smooth" on CNG compared to petrol. Of course when it's driven on petrol it's a delight, comparable or may be better than Swift VDI. Back seat comfort in Ikon is even better than my Baleno so of course it would be better than Swift. let me know what you decide or PM me for more info. |

| BHPian | Swift Vdi. Great reviews about this car, if you can do with the rear space which is on a compact size, and the looks(subjective). Add on Maruti A**, resale, and a peppier machine. Ikon is a good car, but with Flair managing only 77 (or 73) BHP, putting on CNG might bring down the pick up a bit more. Hence the driving pleasure wont be as good as the petrol flair or definitely the 1.6

| if you have a lot of co passengers and their luggage then it is definitely the Ford car, but if style and beauty matters more then the swift is a better option. from the point of view of maintainance the swift may be marginally better Good luck ![]() |

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | The Ikon will give you more usability - but nobody expects it to be available (in its current form atleast) in a typical 3-5 years ownership period effecting resale value potentially The D Swift is more contemporary
