Default Confusion between getz Diesel and swift diesel ?

Hi ,

I would like to buy an Diesel Car , may be Swift Diesel
or Getz Diesel (If hyundai has plans to release it). But
for the Swift Diesel I have been told by some dealers that
the wait time is 8 months , I do not have patience , even if the
swift diesel runs with water instead of diesel.
Is it worth waiting for Getz Diesel ? What is your suggestion
on this.

Regards
Ravi

Yes I heard Swift D has huge waiting period, I feel compared with Swift and Getz there are other good hatches available for less price like Pailo, UVA, Spark etc. Why can't think about those cars.

If you need to buy Diesel car with immediate delivery I feel only Logan D is available price near to Swift D. Logan D is very good car according to me. Its more practical than Hatchbacks.

Regards,

Ravi.

Well, Swift has a 4 cylinder motor compared to a 3 cylinder motor . Second swift is already there and there are reviews allaround .

8 months is on the higher side.did the dealer try to push you for a petrol swift?

i checked with bimal(bangalore),its 3-4 months.

therez no clear indiacation on the launch date for getz D, swift is already in the market with good reviews.

i would suggest book the swift and wait for the getz and if you like getz cancel the booking and get the getz(before booking ask the dealer that will you get the booking amount back)

if you are in hurry look at the indica turbo very good car

You might want to book the LDI which is available in about 2 months. And then add accessories.

Look at it this way, keeping emotions of waiting aside, when you're investing 5-6L for atleast 5 years, would 2-3 months matter more than the better choice of a car. I used this logic to wait for my new car - SX4.

Thanks for the suggestions and the tips , I currently own an Indica Diesel and I will not go for Tata Indica again , as it is difficult for me to drive this
on bangalore roads (with the lesser pickup). Logan will not fit in may car
park space. Looks like it is a good idea to Book Swift VDI and wait for my turn.

Does any one has idea about the getz Diesel launch. Are these south koreans are serious about this model ?. Any information on this will be helpful.

Getz will need a 1.4 litre diesel engine to be claimed as a "small car" and enjoy an 8% rebate from the 16%.
Hyundai's Accent CRDi had a 1.5L.So, it wouldn't be feasible for them to plonk that 3 cyl motor into the Getz.
Either they'll reduce the stroke to make it a 1.4(which is highly unlikely) or they need to source another 1400cc or lesser capacity engine.

I am sure I read in some of the car magazines that Hyundai has also licence rights to the Fiat-Suzuki Diesel engine as used in the Swift. Maruti has exclusive rights to use this engine for a limited time, after that the other manufactures can also build and use this engine.

I am SHOCKED I didnt knew that Hyundai has also license rights to Suzuki & Fiat venture Diesel DDiS engine ? and it has only build and use this engine for limited time ? all i though is Detroit Diesel owns part of Hyundai and it wanted to plonk its CRDi engine on Hyundai or maybe I m wrong

Getz CRDI is expected to be launched in the 3rd quarter of this year. Most probably, its a 1.5L engine powered at 88BHP and 215nm torque.

Hmmm. Whats the source of info?

Interesting specs. Hope its not the 3-cylinder pot of the Accent CRDi.
