Lightbulb Zen Lx 2000 quoted price 1.6L can i go for it ??

Hi All

I was on the look out for a Maruthi Zen, and recently i came across a KA Regd Zen Lx , 2000 Make , with LPG gas, done 35,000KM for sale. The owner is asking for 1.6L. What do fellow Bhpians think abt the price ??. I have not seen the car yet , but my cousin who saw the car says that its in good shape. What do you folks say abt the pricing. Is it too high or can i go for it !!

Regards

Jango

I am damn sure the car has done a lot more than 35k Kms. Please ask for service records.
Is it carb/mpfi ?
Is it an out of state regn ?
If the car has comprehensive insurance with intact NCB & the service records tally with the mileage, then it is a decent price.

Esteem_Lover I have asked my cousin to find out if its a Carb/Mpfi. Its not an out of state regn. It was purchased in B'lore and has been driven in b'lore only and yes its a single owner vehicle. Not sure abt the Insurance will check on that as well !!

Jango
It's a fair price in BLR . But ask for the service records, if he has maintained.

My cars are known for minimum kms accumulation over the years. Even my 2000 mpfi zen has done 49k kms. The deal sounds fishy unless the owner has been outside the country n left the car parked for long time..
Go for the MPFi.

An ALTO VX 1.1 2002 model with 50k kms went for 1.3 lacs here..
Bangalore resale value is very high.. In future i'll sell my cars in Bangalore.

Mileage looks doubtful. Should be a carb. Its a bit expensive. I wouldn't go above 1.2 or 1.3

jango I think there is something fishy about the mileage clocked on this zen.

Try to get the service records of the car 1st and then dig into others details. Else you did be simply wasting your quality time on that car.

Hi there Jango - me thinks it is a bit overpriced !! Specially if it has LPG also.

My friend in Delhi sold his Zen 2003 Zen - 46000kms - Very good condition - expensive audio setup - new tyres with alloys - for 1.5 Lacs - he was very happy as zen being discontinued, not too many takers for it.

I sold my Zen Carb 2000, 82K Kms, FE of 15-17 with AC , very good condition for Rs 1.35 Lacs. Hope this gives you an idea about the deal. Also check what does the gent do..I mean his profession. That should give you a fair hint about the mileage being genuine or not.

Folks remember this is bangalore... even though the car is priced a bit high, it will be way higher than Delhi which has some of the lowest vehicle prices in the whole of India.

Yeah , the prices in Bangalore are quite different then that of Delhi..I think 1.6 is the right price for Bangalore., but you can bargain for another 5-10k discount I think. But only problem is the mileage front, 35k is too less for a 7 year old car(mine 99' model has done 70k already)

Thanks all for your inputs. Coming weekend i will be going out to check out the car. I will try to get some pics too and will definitely check on the mileage factor and will check out for the service details. If the car is in gud condition then i would mind paying 1.6L for it, but then it all depends after i drive the car around.....
