Varun, my Palio 1.2 delivers 12 - 13 kmpl in City and 15 - 18 kmpl on Highways.

I owned Swift VXI and don't know much about Palio 1.1 top end but I can give my feedback based on what I read and heard.

Swift VXI :

1) Space(comfort) : 6/10
2) Suspension: 6/10
3) power: 7/10
4) milage: 9/10
5) acssesories: 9/10
6) maintaince cost: 6/10
7) parts avilablity: 9/10
8) Value for money: 7/10

Palio 1.1 top end:

1) Space(comfort) : 8/10
2) Suspension: 8/10
3) power: I am not sure since I didn't drive
4) milage: Should be above 11 in city
5) acssesories: We can buy many type of accessories but not sure if they are available easily because no experience.
6) maintaince cost: 7/10
7) parts avilablity: 6/10 It depends on your service station and area
8) Value for money: 7/10


Advantage of Swift VXI -> Looks, MUL backed up service. good resale value.

Advantage of Palio 1.1 top end -> space, good comfort, cheap to buy and cheap to maintain. good build.

Palio 1.6 has still better ride comfort I heard.

Swift (S) palio 1.1 (P). This is only considering 1.1 and 1.6 is a totally different beast.

1) Space(comfort)- S 7 & P8.5
2) Suspension- S8 & P 8 (Swift handles superbly while palio offers a good ride)
3) power- S 8 & P 4 (Swift has good performance while performance of Palio 1.1 is comparable to Maruti 800 )

4) milage- S7 & P7 (both offers decent mileage)
5) acssesories- S 7 & P 8 (Palio offers better VFM in terms of features)
6) maintaince cost- S6.5 & P7 (Swift expensive compared to other maruti's)

7) parts avilablity- S 9 & P 5 (MUL service is too good. FIAT service has improved with TATA. However, as owners have reported parts availability is a problem)
8) Value for money- S8 & P 6.5 (Palio is a good package, but that 1.1L engine offering 57 bhp offers only M800 like performance letting the whole package down. Swift is better all-rounder)

With sales not picking up, offers are becoming huge in case of palio 1.6. Choose between Swift/palio 1.6

You did not add the one edge Fiat's always have, and that is the driver's car feel in terms of everything being in the right place.
Anyway, 1) Space - Fiat 7 Swift 5
2) Suspension - 8 5
3) Power (don't know the 1.1) the Swift is OK, slightly underpowered. 4
4) Mileage 8 4 (Swift is ordinary, with none of my friends getting over 11)
5) Accessories Do not know. Do not need anything if the car drives well and as a big extra, has a music system.
6) Maintenance cost - 7 7 (Fiats hardly ever need additional attention. Swift is a Maruti)
7) Parts Availability - 4 (Fiats are infamous for this though I have luckily not had trouble) 10 (Maruti)
8) Value for money 9 (Fiat with FE!) 5 Swift is overpriced.

I own a Swift Vxi which has run 10k odd KM's. I have not driven Palio 1.1 and also not sure about the reqeusted information on the car.

Swift VXI :

1) Space(comfort) : 7/10
2) Suspension: 6/10
(a bit stiff, ofcourse not smooth sail always)
3) power: 8/10
(slighly underpowered under 2k RPM, but can overcome with your driving habits)
4) milage: 9/10
( I am getting 11.5 - 12 with 75% AC in Bangalore City traffic)
5) acessories: 9/10
(If it is about the accessories provided)
6) maintaince cost: 7/10
( I just finished my 3rd free service, so obviously I didn't face any astonishing bills, but heard from the Forum that the maintenance is not cheap as it is persived for MUL)
7) parts avilablity: 9/10
8) Value for money: 8/10

Hey Varun,

I own a 1.2 and get a mileage of 11-12 kpl in city with 100% A/C. Just love this car.

Have test driven the 1.1 liter. Though good in initial pick up it sorely lacks power for such a heavy car. Swift will runs circles round it. I have also added the issue of resale value. I wanted to sell my 1.2 as I wanted to buy a larger car, but gave up due to the dismal response.
