Palio stile is lighter than the old Palio 1.6. The front of the stile is more modern than the older palios but I dont like the rear of the stile. And may be its more fuel economical to run than the older 1.6

Some differences I can think of:
1. Double-barell headlamps and new Tail-lamps in Palio Stile.
2. Tubeless tyres in Palio Stile.
3. No Rear-spoiler in Palio Stile.
4. Pull-type Door handles in Palio Stile.

Both of you are taking different models in mind. The 2003 and pre-2003 1.6 did not come with a cabin light timer. The post 2003 models (NV as we call them) came with a theater effect cabin light.

Guys,

I bought a Canary yellow OLD look 1.6 Sport last week. I found the following differences:

1. The new STILE doesnt have a Spoiler
2. The new STILE doesnt have leather gear knobs
3. The new STILE doesnt have leather sterring grip
4. The new STILE doesnt have Stone Guard
5. The new STILE is only available in Black and Formula Red

As for me, I loved the previous headlight design - parallel (straight line and muscular looking). I also wanted Yellow which is no longer available. I used to own a 1.2 (2005 make) so I think thee is atremendous improvement in performance in the way the car handles or RUNs in the 3rd and 4th gear. I am loving it.

The 1.6 Stile Sports are available at BU Bhandari, Pune, so are the old look 1.6 sports models.

Have fun
Amit

So you are the one Amitkavi. I saw the car in the showroom and knew that B.U. has managed to find some old stock somewhere. Great choice of a car. I am sure you will enjoy it. I saw two Red's sold from B.U. too. I am sure they have a few more in stock. Your car has to be a DY series registration and I guess you stay somewhere near Pashan or Aundh.

Vinod, try your luck with buying the Retro Palio because if you knock the front of the Stile, the headlamps are Rs. 16,000/- a pair. Everything else is cheaper.

No it didn't and I doubt the ones in stock with B.U. Bhandari are without tubeless tyres too. You can take a car out of the showroom without tubeless tyres and get them swapped with tubeless tyres of your choice for Rs. 4,000/- to Rs. 5,000/-. Thats what most people do. Make sure you cry for a lot of discount.

See the long term ownership report of my car for a view on B.U. Bhandari service.

Hi Vinod,

The Car cost me 4.3 L on road. No it does not have tubeless tyres but you can have those put for about Rs. 3K if Michelin (I did that Michelin XM1 175/65) and way lesser if Bridgestones. Mr Santosh Doshi (BU Bhandari) is helpful. Service-wise I trust these guys since they have Sameer Ajgaonkar (ex-ashwamegh and a well regarded technician) at their service center.

Happy thoughts and greed for performance is all I had to upgrade from 1.2 to 1.6 and I am loving each inute in it. Today I will have faux-leather seat covers put too

Regards
AMit
