How about a Zen?? It looks good, decent fuel efficiency, and as far as i know, the ride is smooth... Manitainence is pretty cheap too. I think it makes a great city car.

u can get a zen or an esteem at this price.
u can probably go for post 2000 zens which came with mpfi.if u can keep a max of 2 lacs as ur budget, then u cud try Maruti's True Value cars, which may be slightly expensive ,but u get 3 free services and a warranty of 6 months.
for this ,maruti does not take any accident vehicle .and every vehicle is then refurbished ,and none of the parts are repaired, they are replaced starightaway.
so u will not have any doubts on the quality .

From seeing your requirements I guess the Zen is your best bet. Has everything going for it.. looks, mileage, service, spare part price and ease of driving.

how abt going in for a santro? i personally dont like zen as it has less ground clearance and my car is always carrying around my factory's material all around. i dont want to end up repairing my below the bonnet problems everytime.

how abt an indica? or an alto?

Hmm... and what about the spare parts of a Matiz? are they readily available? How heavy a maintenance would a second hand matiz demand?

Atleast in bangalore it is readily available..... my cousin owns one and doesn't find any problems finding spare parts. So i doubt there should be any problems in other major cities of india as well.

And yeah, as for the maintainence, well, atleast my cousins' Matiz finds itself in the garage pretty regularly (once in a month or two months).....not sure about the other Matiz's..
