If you're looking for something different, have a look at a used Corsa Sail 1.6. Reasonably priced in the used car market, Strong chasis, looks good. Plus, a good port and polish, FFE, Throttle body enlargement and filter would do wonders. Have a look at this video from this year's Mumbai speedrun.

On the right is a Corsa Sail 1.6 with the above mods and on the right is a completely souped up OHC VTEC.

Please stay away from Opel cars unless you have a fat wallet to throw around. Been there! experienced it.

There's a Zen with a modified OHC engine for sale. I think that'll be a real pocket rocket! Exterior mods are easy to get done too.

Well Zak, I've been driving one for the past 2 years now and I can't disagree with you more. It has never let me down and not a single mechanical or any other problem till now.

You can always change the suspension, brakes, tyres n so on. And unless he's gonna use it on a track, this should be enough.

I've driven a Zen+Esteem engine that belongs to a friend. It doesn't handle well, brakes feel pathetic. He hasn't worked on them yet. Please remember that it would be dangerous to make the transplant in stock or near-stock condition.

However, I should tell you that it feels like a very powerful car with that tiny body.

Turboindia has got an E-Zen and hes almost upgraded everything in the car as well.. Plus hes done it in the Zen Carbon (2door) so it looks hot too.

Have seen a Zen with Honda Vtec and turbo with a full suspension upgrade, brake upgrade and expensive BF Goodrich super slick rubbers. Handles like a bowl of jelly. Have also driven a friend's e-zen with complete suspension, brakes and rubber upgrades. It still won't corner even if its life depended on it.
