one of my cousins bought a U-VA recently. i drove the car in city - i did not notice any lag due to the small engine even with AC on..

rear seat space is pretty good for this segment.

only thing i did not like was the dashboard plastic colour - but then if this car takes care of your other priorities u can definetly compromise here..

TATA Indigo CS GLS
: I think its a very well packaged sedan.
and Aveo-U-VA
: It looks nice, But I would(key word is I) prefer Tata over GM any day.

The Indigo CS is a pretty decent buy, IMO. My cousin had one for a long time, and it ran pretty smoothly, gave him not 1 problem throughout the 3 years he had it, except regular wear an tear. The engine is pretty resiliant *shocked*

But yeah, I guess you don;t wanna race or get anywhere too fast in the U-Va (sounds like an incubation project), then yeah, space, ride height, budget.. 75% of your requirements are met. With a little dough you could later soup the machine up, give it a distinct paint job, add rims, hydraulics, whatever.
Basically, you can still biuld your car into an object of desire over time - you just need to think about how to go about it, and there's a loooot of people here that I'm sure would help you to do it...

But driving to Mangalore for service is a pain, one of the reasons why I stuck to Maruti.

If i remove Aveo U-VA from my list, next one will be Indigo CS. problem is 165mm ground clearance. which is less then my old swift.
