Talking Palio Adventure 2002, very keen on buying it

Palio guru's, need some advice!!!

For long have been in love with the adventure, as this machine suits my requirement perfectly!

There is a 2002 Adventure which am keen to pick, its done about 38k kms...

So is it sensible to pick it?? anything to look out for??? how is the availability of spare parts??

finally, how much is the market value??

thanks

Lohit,

All Fiat lovers love the Adventure.

A 2002 Adventure with only 38k seems hard to believe. I think you should very this claim first.

Spares: It will be more very difficult than the Palio spares since the vehicle is out of production and only a handful were ever sold here.

Price: If the vehicle is in mint condition, then 2.75L is a good deal.

To Verify:
01. FE: A badly maintained one can give in the range of 7kmpl. A well maintained one should be able to average about 10kmpl.

02. Check for the tyre ware. Since it has run only 38k, I assume the original tyres should still be on. Check for the date of manufacture on the tyre. If its a new one one find out the date.

03. Remember to check out the spare wheel as well.

04. If possible check for insurance claims.

05. Get it tested by a Fiat mechanic.

Though I love the Adventure very much, I would still stay away from a 2002 Adventure.

My pleasure .

Btw, you can even post your query on PUG-yahoo in case you haven't done that already.

Wow! That's some good post, Sushant. It not only helps in buying a Palio adventure, but a general reference post it is. Good job!

As I had been recently helping out some relative of mine to buy a Palio 1.9D, let me put up my opinions here.
The adventures are very rare to find in the used car market.
I stumbled upon 2 adventures in the last 1 year for sale and both were well maintained. Means, very enthusiastic kind/people who really take care of their vehicles bought the adventure it seems.
So even if it's a 2002 model, chances are that it could be a good piece.
Spare parts will definitely be a problem. Especially, body parts and suspension parts.
Check the gearshift in the car. It seemed to be prone to repairs in some Palios we saw.
Take the car to a bad patch of roads. Switch off the aircon and drive in a steady pace while keeping your ears wide open. Both, windows down and closed. If you tend to hear noises/rattles/thumps etc., try and determine where it is from. If it seems to come from the suspension/drive train, run! Don't even look back.

If you're in love with adventure, then there's not much left for you as a second option. Best of luck with your search.
