Swift VDi or Vxi/Zxi - Team-BHP

Hi Guys,

I want to buy a Swift and will be booking it within 7 days.

I finalized on VDI but would like to know which is a better choice as I use the car ... Mostly in weekends as I am busy throughout the week with work.

My Q is whether Diesel good for the above scnenario or Petrol...

I would go for Mysore/Coorg trips ( Once/twice a month ) and probably long trips like Mangalore/Goa/Kerala etc.. once in 2-6 months.

Please advice....

If you drive more than 1500KM per month then go for diesel as it saves money in the long run.
If you drive less than 1.5KKM and if safety is your prime concern then close your eyes and buy a Swift ZXI. You get dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Seat belt pre-tensioners along with Climate control AC. Good VFM IMO.

If you are going for the petrol I suggest the ZXI. It comes with ABS and airbags. Never compromise on the safety aspect.

Also the waiting period for petrol swift is lesser than a diesel one.
TD the car and decide.

Inder, I was faced with the same dilemma 2 weeks back. Vdi or Vxi or Zxi. The Zxi won. The main 2 reasons was that:

- I wanted ABS.
- I didn't want to wait.

There were no VDis available for ready delivery and even with string-pulling, I'd have had to wait for a month, and then I would not have got it in White. VDi with ABS meant that I'd have had to wait for 3-4 months for sure. And I just do 500 to 600 kms a month anyway, making the extra Lakh or so for a Diesel in Vx trim being money spent totally on just a torque machine which I'd rarely have the opportunity to really use (90% city driving).

I found a VXi with ABS and a ZXi, both ready for delivery, and both in White colour. Between the two, the addition of Air Bags, Auto Climate Control, Rear W/screen Wash-wipe & demister and integrated Security helped me make up my mind in favour of the ZXi.
