Used Zen Estilo, Tough to sell!

Hi Bhpians,
My friend had bought a Zen Estilo for his wife, It is in perfect condition, but now he wants to change it for a swift or an i10 this diwali.
Its bodywork is in flawless condition, it had excellent and properly mantained history but sadly cant find many buyers
Can you guys please suggest the least price that my friend should agree on to sell the car.

Some Details:
It is a March 2007 registed, single owner, 23000 kms run, doctor owned, car, Colour :Purple Fusion, Model :Vxi (Top-end), Purchase Price : 4.0L, DTO: Amritsar

The problem is the color I guess. Will be tough to find a customer who likes it unless you quote a nice price.

The problem is the car itself. Since not many people opted for this Zen. People still like the older zen for its muscleness. Anyways try out in some ad agencies/papers and of-course why not go for the exchange offer in the Maruti itself? Though you may get 10-20k less than the market value,atleast a peace of mind can be obtained.

Zen Estilo inherently has low resale value, try disposing it off before the year changes, otherwise it will result in further depreciation.
Maruti is already selling the slow moving Estilo at hugely discounted rates from the showrooms itself, this further takes a toll on resale value.
As already pointed out by JK, color is also a big hitch!

Exchange it for a swift in the showroom. Today a new estilo VXI costs 4.2 lacs OTR and it comes with free insurance I guess.. and the usual 3 free service. I think your friend should be prepared to lose 20-25% as first year depreciation so I think 3 lacs is maxxxxxx he can expect...

I might be wrong but that is what my price would be, if I were to sell a car under similar circumstances.

I also thought the same. If you're going in for another car, then why not exchange?
With so many attractive financial offers available on a new Zen Estilo, nobody will be interested in buying a used one unless there's a huge price difference.
Colour is a matter of taste.

+1 for exchange thingy. With the said color you'll only to find a decent buyer at a discounted price only. If you are looking Swift for her, why not exchange it !!

I am not going to but a new swift and we are going for a used Red Swift ZXi ABS, with Low Profile tires, Alloys, 1.5 L Music System , 1 year Old, for 3.25 L

check with hyundai dealers they will also sometimes give good deals ! if you buy a car from them

With color mentioned, getting an equally colorful buyer might be difficult and even if so, the price will take a good hit. Best option will be to do a dealer exchange, especially when you are going to go in for the same manufacturer.

Completely agree upon the Colour. The best option is to post an advertisement, look for used car dealers. Maruti and Hyundai both have their used car division.
