| I drive a Getz GLE July'06 , I bought this car at 25600Kms on the odo in jan'08 for 3.5 lacs and currently have clocked 42000 . Currently hyundai is offering a exchange for GLX for 4.86 lacs on road and have valued my car for exchange at 3.4 lacs and another friend of mine is willing to buy my car for 3.3 lac.i havde another 18 months to go for EMI. I like getz everymuch , Now does selling this car and buying a Getz CRDI or GLX with ABS make any sense .i am confuesd since is it wise decision to buy same car ..i plan to keep the car for atleast 5 yrs. pls suggest .

| I would suggest you to go for the new getz mate. It is definitely VFM and comes with attractive features, also you are getting good resale value for your old car. One key factor here is, since getz will be stopped from production soon you might have some trouble finding spare parts from dealers after few years. Having said this, please check with the dealer on how long you can expect spare parts availability. all the best, keep us updated. Regards, Pradeep ![]() |

| Senior - BHPian | As you have mentioned in your post sell it to the dealer and go for the Getz with ABS, instead of selling your old Getz to a known friend as in future he might curse you if any problems occur on the vehicle .

| thxns for the inputs guys .. will sure go for a new one and xchange with the dealer . am keen on crdi even though my current running is low around 25-35kms per day and within 1000-1200 kms per month. I some how dont like i20 since it doesnot have reclining seats at back and the rear leg space is also little less compared to GETZ. Also going by i20 pricing , i20 crdi will be definitely around 7 lacs on road.

| Senior - BHPian | I'd say exchange the current car with a new crdi. The petrol won't be a significant upgrade from your current car. Also the crdi should be a blast to drive.

Wow, talk about a deal king! You've used a Getz for 1.5 years and spent only 10,000 rupees in depreciation. The beauty of buying a depreciated car is unparalleled. While I normally advice everyone to hold on to their cars for well over 5 years (so as to minimise depreciation loss), in your case, an upgrade to a stonking diesel is a safe bet. Simply because you aren't losing anything on your existing car. Go ahead, I say.

| I would break rank here. Its all good where you are. BUT - this is the recession. Unless your job/firm is totally safe, stay happy and stick with the car. There is a value to the liquidity of your own money. |
