Default santro gls or i10 AT for mom?

hi everybody, searched all over but couldnt get any specific answers.so requesting mods not to delete this thread.well the story now-moms driving a 8 year old santro from which she is extremly satisfied.off late was informed by a.s.s. that santro has started rusting from crossmember and in other areas so she should be dispatched off before repairs turn ugly.
Mom wants a second santro but i was thinking of getting her a base I10 AT.is the sitting in I10 low or like in santro-this is important because she uses a cushion in santro.what will be the diff in cost between I10 A magna with santro gls?what to do to convince her?it will be tough!what do you guys recommend?

i10 AT is the way to go for a hassle free city driving. There is not even a poll required. Just go and get it.

i10 sitting is similar to Santro. If mom is using cushion in Santro, she will need to use the same in i10 too. I will any time recommend i10 with Kappa engine. though there are concerns with FE. I bought i10 AT Magna for my wife and she is enjoying it. She was driving Santro manual previously. In Pune, i10 Magna AT would cost around 4.85 lacs on road.

Gift her with i10AT! That would be the best to her to ride in city traffic w/o any hasseles of shifting gears & using clutch.
To convince your mother give her a test drive & she will fall for it.

The driver's seat is slightly lower in i10 as compared to Santro. But still it is higher than most other cars.

What is your mom's height ? Why does she use a cushion, to get better view of the road ?

Does she really need/prefer an AT ?

Santro is an aging model, I would not suggest the same.

What is your approximate budget ?

Are you open to other brands ?

Also consider i10 1.1, spark, beat and ritz.

Let your mom take a TD and decide for herself. Don't force your choice on her.

rohan, spark, beat and ritz are out since he is looking specifically for AT cars.
IMO i10 magna AT is the best fit for you

I felt that he was still undecided on MT/AT.

He prefers AT whereas his mom wants another Santro (which I am assuming would be MT).

I would suggest him to keep both options open and let her mom decide for herself whether she prefers an AT or MT. That's why I suggested MT models also.

I don't have an idea of the traffic situation in his city, so can't comment whether it is really worth making that extra investment (high initial price and low FE) in AT.

Having owned a Santro in the past and currently driving an i10.

I can recommend the i10 highly as it's way ahead of a Santro on all parameters.

today went to see the new santro.the diff between the gls model and I10 AT magna is 1 lakh .will have to convnce mom for I 10 AT as i still like AT more.but AT does not have a demo vehicle atleast here in kanpur.now the difficult part is to convince her without a test drive.
